Out & Proud

As of Wednesday last week I have ditched the wig and am wearing my bald head with pride. So far the response has been great. All was revealled at work fo the first time on Monday and everyone couldn't believe it but then said how much better and more confident I look!
Walking in to my local shop, meeting my friends at the pub, playing hockey, anythng - I'm not bothered about people seeing the real me - Best decision I ever made!

Congratulations, Emily! It really is a "coming out", and the feeling is so liberating. Once I stopped caring if people saw my bald head, I was free to fully accept myself. Wear it with pride!

Excellant news for you and for us all! Although, I personally dont think that all alopecians "must" be bald in the public in order to feel great but I believe that it is a choice that all us can make when we're ready or when we want too. A choice that often feels "liberating".

Snap. Bald out day was day 1 for me. I also have only received great comments, someone said I looked 10 years younger......didn't ask her how old she though I was.Thought while I'm ahead in the "feel good about myself" stakes I would quit! Sure we will get some sort of negative comment sooner or later but we will be ready for it.

That's great, Lynn! In a year of going out in public bald, I haven't had one negative comment, and lots of positives. I've had a couple of young kids say something like "Mommy, that lady doesn't have any hair", but that's all.
