My sister was out last night having dinner and drinks with her boss and other coworkers. (My sister works selling laser hair removal.) When a guy came over to their table to talk to them. She said someone brought up the conversation about laser hair removal and asked the guy if he was interested in having any hair removed. The guy responded by telling them he has AA and didn't have a need for hair removal. As he began to tell them what alopecia was my sister interupted him and said she knew what it was and told him about my AU. She said he was surprised to hear that and then he began sharing some of his concerns with her. He told her he is getting more patches and starting to lose facial hair. He said he thinks he is on the way to losing it all and feels in a rush to get a girlfriend before that happens. She told this guy about Alopecia World and how it has helped me. She told him that I have been AU since I was a kid and that I had boyfriends and am now married and that I'm fine.
She said that he thanked her for talking with him told her he felt better and that he felt there was a reason he met her that night.
On a side note my sister has a hard time talking about my AU without crying even after all these years. Her coworkers were not aware that she had a sister with AU.
I am so glad that she was strong enough to talk about it and that because of that this guy is feeling a litte better.
