My hair was fine during pregnancies, but fl
fell out again when I started birth control pills. Got off the pills, but it was too late. AT, then AU (from the pets?), now Reverse Ophiasis Alopecia and bare arms, most of legs. Oh well.

Hi Sarah,

Your post caught my eye since it had "pregnancy" in the title. Ive had alopecia since childhood but it was in remission for most of my adolescence. I then started getting some bald patches here and there throughout my 20s which have all responded well to treatment with steroid injections. My hair all grew back at the end of my pregnancy but now that my little one is 15 months I've lost so much hair I'm looking into wigs. My dermatologist who is a PA mentioned to me that with pregnancy, some autoimmune disease go into remission only to come back with a vengeance postpartum. She did give me some hope however that it does level off again. However, Id like to get pregnant again soon and she warned me if my hair does grow back I may go though this all over again.  Id say its well worth it for the joy the little ones bring! I dont know where this hair loss is headed but just thought Id let you know you're not the only one out there with this experience. Take care :)
