Am I the only one who gets compliments on wearing hats all the time. Whenever I take my daughter to school, or go somewhere before I do my workout and shower. I just throw on a hat. I looks like ugly strands of hair underneath a hat. I look in the mirror and want to BREAK it. I hate hate hate wearing hats. I have to wear them at the river, camping, when its windy. Then...... I gets compliments. Other mommys at school, or whatever. They say, "you always look so cute with your hats all the time. I can just picture you at home cleaning ,wearing a hat." I say, "I hate wearing hats" I need a WIG! So I can just throw that on if I leave the house, or if someone comes to the door! Why don't I just get it already?

We seldom have anyone just show up at our house, but I always ALWAYS know where my wig is if I have to grab it! And my husband will say when I am heading somewhere - do you have your hat? I actually went away on a crafting weekend WITH a roommate and kept up my disguise (by getting up and "dressed" before her for one thing)! TLCDIRECT.ORG sells caps that have hair attached, but until/unless I have lost that much hair that is not for me. They sure look cute, though.

Okay - two more months have past - and I have to say, I am getting tired of always having to think about what is on my head- am I covering everything up? Do I look age appropriate? My daughter teased me that I look like a thug in my "do-rags"! My sun hats are two wide for indoors - when I take them off - I am afraid my wig will come with them. Yes, this is getting old.... I know that some people opt not to cover up at all - but i think that is harder when you have some hair. Oh well.

Yea...Domimique is right. It's a totalyl different cap...it's made of silicone and it's fitted to your head. Look at the pics on my page. You can see the inside of it. When you put it on...it makes a suction noise. It doesn't come off, unless you take it off. You need to be bald or shaved to wear a vacuum wig. There are lace wigs that won't come off also. Lace wigs are made with a lace netted base. Vacuum wigs last awhile...as long as you take care of them. I had to send mine back for a repair 6 months after i got it...because I slept in it about 10-15 times...BIG mistake. Dom....I agree with the $$ thing...thats a whole new story. I spent almost $8,000 on wigs in the last YEAR ( I have 2 vacuum wigs that I love) but Im in serious debt! Insurance needs to cover!!

Oh and the difference between a lace and a vacuum is that you have to glue, clip, or tape a lace wig on and a vacuum wig suctions onto your head for a more secure fit. I have not found my lace wigs to be well made or secure. I am not a happy camper right now. After spending thousands of dollars on lace wigs I am back to wearing a $300 clip on synthetic for now. Unfortuanately I am broke and can't afford anything else right now.

I heard you can sleep in a cyberwig and do just about anything in it. I think that will be the next wig I purchase. My new lace wig from Joseph Paris is already ruined. It cost $2500 the glue from the cap melted into the hair causing a big ball of disgusting hard tangles. I now have to take a trip to NYC to hopefully get it fixed or replaced. What I really want is my money back!!

I heard the vacuum wigs only lasted a year too. I was told the wig, that I am going to go look at, was around $1000 and it would last 6 months, then need to be taken in for adding more hair to it. which would be another $200 and then would last 6 more months. Also, that if I bout 2 wigs, it would be $1500 for both!? But my friend also said that its not a suction one?

I love wearing hats! I am allergic to the sun, so I have to wear hats whether I wear my wig or not. I have two medical reasons to cover my head, so I am always known by my wearing hats. I found these cute things called skull-dana's at the Jersey Shore for 2/$5. I bought 8 of them in different colors! They are bandanas that are already sewn the shape of a do-rag. I love them. I wear them around the house when i don't feel like wearing them a wig or going bald. I also wear them to the pool. Since they were so much cheaper than my hats, I am less worried about them getting ruined.

Best wishes to you!
