There is hope

Hi. My name is Clare and i just want to share that i had a very rapid case of AA, In June last year my hair started to fall out very Quickly, first with a few spots then it continued till i lost almost all of it. From start to finish it was all gone within 4 to 5 months it was devastating. However i did do Steroid shots and then my hair started to grow back very slowly and it was curly. My doctor was wonderful and very encouraging. Every case is different so its hard to say if its the right choice for each individual. All i know is that i am glad i did the shots because i now have hair again even although its short i Love it. The other thing i would say is a huge thank you to this website as it saved me at one of the worst times of my Life, i couldnt have gotten through it without everyones support. I wish the best for all of my friends on Alopecia World.xxx

This is wonderful for you!!! I bet you are thrilled! I just started steroid shots on my brows and head. How often did you go to the doctor and how many shots did you get per visit? Also, how long of a time did you get the shots? Over a year? Any advice and information would be very much appreciated! Jenn

Hi Jen in the beginning i had shots every two weeks for about 2 months i would get about 8 shots each time, then i went every month and it would vary from time to time i probably went for 8 months in total. It was a slow process but in the end it paid off there were times when i thought it wasn't going to work but my doctor encouraged me to stick with it. I am so glad that i did. Some people don't think its the right thing to do but, in my experience it was worth it. I was so happy that i got results, my Doctor recommended massaging my head after treatment because sometimes my head would feel lumpy. Don't give up and be patient with yourself. I wish the best for you and will keep you in my prayers.
