Alopecia World inspires far more people than those living with various types of alopecia.

I think about this every time I am approached by a non-alopecian who not only recommended the site to someone struggling with hair loss, but who also regularly visits AlopeciaWorld.com because they are deeply moved by what they see and learn from our beloved community.

Trust me -- I know the feeling.

As the husband of the alopecic and adorable co-founder of Alopecia World, Cheryl Carvery-Jones, I am educated and empowered daily by members' posts and profiles.

Indeed, this is an extraordinary world just teeming with people that are brilliant, bold, concerned, compassionate, entertaining, empathetic, loving, and even refreshingly liberating in their approaches to living with alopecia and promoting awareness of their condition.

Some of you are also destined for greatness as the ingenious minds behind new and innovative initiatives, projects, and publications designed to "transform the stigma into a distinction," as Sheila Jacobs wrote years ago in her book The Big Fall.

Therefore, please know that I applaud as well as appreciate you.

I even look up to you and get lifted up like the R&B singer Kem, whenever I am reminded or see how amazing you truly are.

I could never say it enough: I thank you from the inmost recesses of my being for your positive presence in Alopecia World; and even as someone who does not have alopecia, I am looking forward to continuing to grow (and glow!) with you!

Well said RJ! I was so happy to be able to meet you & Cheryl at NAAF a few weeks ago. I hope that you both get many good vibes from the thousands of people you have helped, connected & inspired. If you feel even half as much satisfaction from your efforts as we feel the joy we get from this beautiful community that you have helped to create here, then you should have enough happiness & love for a hundred lifetimes! Thank you.

Dear rj (and Cheryl), you are the real blessing to have the insight to create this website. What did they say in the movie "Fields of Dreams"... "If you build it, they'll come." We come because we need a place like this to encourage one another. I love you and Cheryl for being the visionaries leading the transformation from stigma to distinction one person at a time.
