I'm well. Thanks for asking. I had been pretty inactive in the last couple of years while the reality of what was happening took over, pretty much, my life. But now i'm great. I've become a different person and things aren't such a big deal anymore. I survived an experience that would have seemed ridiculously impossible to overcome 5 years ago (and then some!) I have since shaved the remainder of my hair - so i no longer watch it fall and i have an aresnal of wild wigs in different color and styles that i rotate frequently. I often think I have been enjoying myself wayyy too much! Thanks for giving me opportunity to find others and hopefully help them to reach the point of acceptance and love i have.
Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for the warm welcome. The site is great, I can't believe I didn't find it sooner. It really makes me feel like I'm not the only one. I recently moved to Italy from the US and wish their was a support group here near me. I have no idea where I can buy a wig here yet or anything and will post something soon to see if anyone on the site knows.
Take care,
Vicky
Thank you so much for putting this site together. I'm sure it has helped many people and it sure has helped me understand what is alopecia. It also showed me thaere are many people living with this condition. I can share what I feel and people understand me because they share the same feelings.
Thank you for reaching out. I realize that I have kept myself from truly living and am grateful that you and your husband created this community. I am hopeful that wonderful things will come from this experience.
Thank you Cheryl for your lovely welcome, and for the site itself. You and RJ are doing a great service and I hope you will continue to thrive and to educate and to support those in the Alopecia community.
Hey Cheryl! Nice to hear from you!
I'm doing great. Sorry to hear about the weirdness with someone hijacking AlopecialWorld.com. Jeez. But more important, how is your father-in-law?
Thank you so much for the sweet message - you made my day! And back at ya - your smile can light up a room!! You go girl! :)
On a sad note- as I have shared with a few friends here on AW I lost my sweet Bentley ( my dog) earlier this month. Had him for 15 years- so it's been unbearably tough for me...... BUT happy you thought he was a cutie! I of course do too.. but being his doggie mom perhaps I'm a bit biased! :)
Thanks Cheryl. I am still learning to maneauver around the site. And though I am having a second flare up with Alopecia, the first time was not so bad, so really didn't feel the impact until this 2nd flare up. Reality set in: It is what it is! LOL, so consider myself "new to AA" since I am still learning about being an AA person. I am enjoying life and being a part of this site. Thanks for all you do,
Hello Cheryl! You are so strong! this is great! i am not that strong yet, maybe never be...
i also started something like you guys do but in Russia, it is our new small world which is developing now and we plan to create smth of a kind as this community (just do not have money for it yet, that is why it is in LiveJournal now).
