Thanks for checking in :) Melaina is still losing her hair but yesterday I cut it short so it wasn't so upsetting to watch it shed all over the place. Poor Melaina is drinking so many capsules in her drinks but she's doing well. I don't see any hair growth yet....probably because it keeps falling out. Are you doing Gluten free and dairy free or just Gluten? I think i'm going to put dairy back into Melaina's diet...what do you think?

Hey Sara,
Just wanted to know how your son was doing with his new regimen? I took Melaina to a wellness dr. on Friday and she put her on all sorts of natural supplements to cleanse her system. She also recommended gluten free diet and the fish oil tablets. We are hanging in there. She really thinks the antibiotic Melaina was on at Christmas did a job on her. I hope we can somehow reverse what it did and get Melaina's immune system back on track :) Let me know how you are!!
Quick question...how did you find the wellness dr. for your son? There don't seem to be many local to where we live. Was he/she a homeopath or naturopath dr? I would like to explore this route with Melaina. I think your dr. is sending you in the right direction.
That's so funny...Melaina is eating like a hog and is usually happy. We have an appt. with the allergist on Thursday. Maybe we can help each other find good things to eat that are Gluten free...it's a full time job i'm told. Thanks for all of your findings....i'll give you mine after our appt. :)
Hi Sara, I have a 6 yr. old girl. Let me know how your son's appt. goes. I am going to get my daughter into an allergist....i read some places that milk allergies and gluten allergies can trigger something. I'll let you know :)
Isn't this just awful?? I feel like i'm living a bad nightmare. I have decided to devote all of my extra time to research alopecia and try to figure out what the heck is causing it in my daughter...we should really compare notes to see what is similar in our kid's lives!! Was your son put on any antibiotics prior to his first bald patch? In December my daughter was put on arithromycn for a cold. 3 weeks later she's losing her hair. Keep track of every change in your son's hair. We might be able to develop a pattern or something. It seems as if professionals could care less about finding a cure for this rapidly spreading problem. The research is not being done as far as i'm concerned. Let me know your thoughts!! Today is the first day I haven't cried...i think it's because now i'm determined to figure this out for my daughter....i have to!!
