hello.. how are you doing today.. Sorry I haven't been keeping in contact.. Just been busy.. I really love your pictures... I haven't took but one.. I am working on more..
Roslyn, I understand how you feel about the change when your hair begin to start comming out. When the dermatogolist tell you after a biopsy that your hair isn't going to grow back. It has been about a year and 6 months since I have cut all of my sistah locs after switching from a perm to grow natural to try and cover up my spot. One day I just took the scissors and cut all of my long locs off. I tried the wig but it was for me, so I went to the barber to get a brush cut and I love it . I color it so it can blend in, but I haven't took the step yet to shave it off. I can remember when one of my co-worker look at me and said.. It's okay it will get better, because I understand what you are going through.. So I asked her do you have Alopecia to, then she said no, I thought you had cancer like me. In my mind I thought to myself loosing hair isn't everything, but loosing your life to a terminally illness is far worse.. So my outlook in regards to Alopecia is something that I have to decide accept and live.. But it takes one day at a time to accept the change from how things use to be.. So, I say to you to be encourage...
I know how you feel sister Roslyn. But you can do it. I won't lie to you and tell you that it will be comfortable at first, it wasn't for me. But I find very unique and positive experiences (most of the time) when I go out natural. It will be nice to talk sometime.
Happy Hugs,
Galena
Good on you..and so you should go without a wig.
I have since 1982...and the day I decided to be free from the burden of other peoples perceptions...was the day I was Liberated!
Shouldn't let your beauty hide under that uncomfortable hot thing..especially in the hot weather.
Be comfortable...and never live in accordance to the perceptions , judgement, opinion and the discomfort and insecurity of others.
Good luck!
