yea i hear ya. i dont mind tellin people about it or that its a wig.i just hate when they go "yea i thought so" like really...so you think it looks fake? a-holes lol. sorry i have swearing problem lol. especially since i just got of work..lol. it takes some time, but im sure ull find that it doesnt really matter what anyones else thinks, im still learning this lol.
Hi Ashley, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us.
true dat.and i still have to shave, its only my head that is affected. and il ove going blad at home, but i could never do it outside of home. unfortunatly i care too much about what other people think. i think its more that i dont like being seen as a cancer patient..like it feels very wrong to be recognized for something that you never went thro ya know?
and thats bs. in fact, wearing a wig makes you prettier. you can ur hairstyle all the time, whenever you want to. and i know theres alot more to it, like people notice and stuff...it gets alot easier once you accept it and build urself a..safety net?...of friends and such. its nice to have people who know and say "i love ur new hair" haha makes me smile. when people ask "u got u hair done" i ignore them cuz it makes me feel weird to say yes haha.
claro que si hablo espanol! haha i used to wear only a bandana when i lived in ny..but when i moved..new school and all, i didnt want people judging me before they knew me. so i never leave the house without it on. i used to be kinda protective about who knew and who didnt, know i really dont care. its kinda funny to see people go like "what? thats a wig? no way" at home i take it off, i sleep without it. its rather liberating :) it takes time to adjust, i know.
Hello Ashley!
You are beautiful, no matter how your head is presented to the outside world. It's okay to either cover up or go without -- it's your choice, do what makes you feel good about yourself.

Thank you for your friend request! Hang in there - It took me about a year, but now I'm used to being bald everywhere. I know what you mean, but believe me, it gets easier as time goes by. As Jenn says, it's ALL about confidence. I learned that if I have the attitude when I enter a room that I'm fine and everything is normal, other people tend to feel the same way. Put on some great earrings, nice eye makeup, and a big confident smile, and know that you're beautiful, because you are. Mary
