Hi, Estella. Thank you for the friend request. I am currently attending the dental hygiene program at the HEC located in National City. Take care, Holly
God is good all the time. Despite what see or how we feel. We can just take a look around us and see how God works, Psalms 104.. just showed me how wonderful and powerful God really is. Its amazing he made all these things! what is hair to God. We should all find the beauty in him. I am having a rough day today, but I know when I walk out side I am bald not because of anyone but because of God who still loves me just the way I am. Enjoy your day!
I'm sorry to hear about your ferritin being so low. :( What type of iron supplement are you taking? Perhaps you need to try a different type of iron? How long have you been taking supplements?
Have you managed to get your iron stores (ferritin) raised?
I wear bandannas most days...maybe they will work for you? I also wear caps/hats here and there but not as often. Do whatever makes "you" feel comfortable, okay? :)
Hi Estella! Thanks for the request. Lemme know if ya need to vent. Keep your head up. AU was a nightmare for me in the beginning but has made me so much stronger. Hope your having great weekend.
Hi Estella,
I read your bio and realized you are probably around the same age as me. You have 3 children and one grandchild. I have 2 daughters in their early 20's. My oldest one got trauma induced alopecia after an accident. She started losing her hair slowly in her teens. I have a full head of hair and feel my daughter is stronger than me. It hurts to see her go through this hair loss, since it is so much of one's identity. But somehow she has found an inner strength. She is beautiful with or without hair. I am sure your children see you different than you see yourself. They know your personality, they know what you like or what you don't like. They see you as a beautiful woman with or without hair. You will always be beautiful to them. If you are losing more hair maybe try scarves. My daughter has found scarfs and hats fun accessories to work with. My daughter has always been good with "doing her hair" and now she is pretty good with twirling and knotting scarves. You are a role model for your children. Keep positive. People are more accepting and loving than we know. Peace.
Jean
I know how hard it can be, Estella! I've had no hair at all anywhere for almost 30 years!
I wrote a book about it called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It's pretty upbeat and has lots of info in it plus personal experiences of other women.
I am here for advice and support...
Hugs!
