Hi Melody, Yes, I am very interested in attending a support group for alopecia. I have a lot of questions, but don't really know where to start. As you probably know, my granddaughter is Taylor. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help out with the support group.
Melody, thank you thank you thank you for letting me know how you liked the book. I'm so happy that it made you laugh and cry and feel better! Many many big hugs to you, girlfriend.
Let me know if you need anything.
Im not really sure what he is interested in....First, he said business management, but he is very athletic and I've been talking to him about possible doing the TEACH program and becoming a high school coach....We'll see though, seems crazy that I'm 34 and I have an almost 18 year old.......gosh, I feel old. :) I'll edfinitely keep in touch girl, maybe we can meet up....my email is susanpgrier@yahoo.com if ya wanna email me sometime.
Hi Melody,
Thanks for the note! I'm definitely interested in an NC support group (although I don't have a car and I'm in Chapel Hill so I couldn't make it out west too often). Good for you for taking the initiative to get something going! I thought about starting one in the Triangle, but grad school doesn't leave much time for things like that :-/ (sigh) Please keep me posted. And - great tattoo!
Best,
Audrey
Thanks for all the info, Im not sure what kind of hairloss I have...The doctors told me telogen effluvium but that kind is supposed to be reversible and mine just gets worse...I think I'll end up in wigs eventually but for now I can cover it up..BARELY...
Actually, my son isnt sure if that is where he wants to go yet, he also applied to Appalachian and Western and UNCG...we havent heard from those yet though.. so who knows.

I really appreciate you wriitng me back, its kinda cool with you being so close to me. I think you look awesome with your head shaved, by the way.
i can understand that but i know when i start the support group in my ere i know atleast 9 people that includes men a few children and a couple of ladies that want to come join the group. and who knows how many more. but like i said that wont start til after the first of the year.
Welcome to Alopecia World! It's been a great resouce of people for me, and Cheryl is great. I wouldn't waste much time with Dr's unless you have some medical condition that you know defintely contributes to the Alopecia (Cancer, Lupus, Lukemia), Drs don't have any real findings about alopecia. There's lots of research, but nothing hopeful. Learn to love your bald head, and have fun with the hair and wigs if that's your choice. I love my bald head and I like to keep people guessing what kind of hair I'll wear next, and then there's times I just wear the scarves, but Love the bald, and keep it moving! And yes I'd love to participate in the Support Group so keep me posted Ok!
after the first of the year i am going to start up a support group in my area also. i have all my p"s & q"s together. jsut have some fine tuning to do now.
