Hi Dotty, Thanks for the well wishes. As you know very well what it is likes to find that man that see all your beauty and jot just the exterior. Hope you are well and will you be at NAAF conference this year?
Hi Dotty, thanks for your comments. I saw your picture and I love the tattoo! I can so see my Hailey when she is older doing that. She actually puts those fake tattoos (and stickers) on her head all the time. That is her way of "doing her hair". The beauty day thing sounds fun and Chelmsford is so close to us. Cindy is going to forward the information. I look forward to meeting you.
Hi Dotty -
Sorry I've been hard to reach. I don't check this site as often as I should!
The day of beauty sounds great - count us in!
Enjoy the beautiful weather!! Make sure to wear a hat!! Ha Ha
Thank you Dotty...

Right now we're still in the WTF!? stage but we're getting better..
I found out today that one of the girls I grew up with at church has it and I called her this afternoon. I remember she lost her hair but we had been told it was the pulling out disease..Her mom told me today that it's Alopecia and she's never let it get in her way. That's what we want for Miss O. We know she will be fine and it's probably worse for us right now.
Thank you...
Hi Dotty! We're all doing really well and I hope you're doing the same. That's great you're starting a non-profit! I so wish that I had known about the luncheon/ boutique just a few days ago, because now we're not going to be able to go. I just booked a trip to NYC for our 10 year anniversary and the girls are going with us. They really love it there, it's funny. The boutique idea is awesome and I would definitely have wanted to come. I hope you have a really great time and I would love to know of any other events you're planning on doing. You're so awesome!
wow, 22?! i didn't know it was such a popular thing haha. i'm just scared of the pain. i can't even take a finger prick at the doctors - i get scared and nervous very easily. and yes they are all wigs. i lost all my hair on my whole body in november of '07. aww, you're so sweet! thanks : ) and i'm still considering boston!
A strange thing has happened in the past few months, my hair has come back. It started last fall and at first I shaved my head becasue the wig, which I only wore at work, won't stay on. Then I decided to see what would happen and it has grown back. So as of last New Year's day I stopped wearing scarves. And I like it really short, which I never would ahve done before, so I still have short hair. But I am now looking like me again, and I like it.
The wigs are still in the closet shelf, in case, and all the scarves are washed and put away. This is sure an odd disorder.
That sounds great Dotty..I will put it on my calendar..Can you send me all the info( name of place, directions, time, etc) and I will get the word out..We have our CAP meeting next week. Enjoy the warm weather!!!!
Just stopping in to say hello, haven't been on in awhile. Hope all is well w/ you. I just watch Joyce on Miami Ink and thought of you, so I had to stop in for a brief moment. I have always wanted to get my head tattooed, but if I did I would have to wear my hair all the time at work. It gets too hot running around the ER so that would not be cool. I do love your head work. I show it to people all the time.
I brag about knowing you and Joyce, my tatooed friends! My tatoo is coming this summer after my surgery. Do you have a link to your site for New Englanders on this page?
Terry
hi dotty! thank you for your outstanding feedback on my discussion! your fantastic personality really shined through when i read you comment! you put a smile on my face when i read it. i love your vivacious attitude about having alopeica! and you have a beautiful work of art on your head! i am still not sure if i want to get the tattoo on my head just yet. my concern is that i will not be able to wear my wig as it heals (i wear a vacuum) i would have to really plan it out if i do. i work as a dental asst and my dentist and co-worker don't know about my AU yet. and i don't want to freak my patients out if i go to work wigless or with a scarf on my head. i know it will be painful but if i do get it, it will be very meaningful to me! and i would probably look at my head all day! lol! i'll keep you posted on what i decide! take care, Holly
Hi Dotty! I miss reading the other message board you used to post on so I am trying to log on to this site more often. I was recently diagnosed with a Vitamin D defiency. I was wondering if you had ever heard of that being linked to Alopecia Areata--or maybe not. Anyway, I suppose I'll always look for a "reason" for this and it seems as though we will never know. I have always enjoyed reading your posts and it seems that much more knowlege was out there. Maybe I'll learn to use this site better and benefit from it more. I hope you and your family are all doing great. Mine are all fine. Since I began supplementing my Vitamin D, I feel "like myself" again. I know you have so much to share about Alopecia--emotionally and medically. Perhaps if we all share our journey, we will do more than just "GET THROUGH IT" maybe, just maybe, we will stumble across an answer and a remedy! Take care of yourself. I appreciate your inspiration and willingness to share!
I found you Dotty - you're on my alopecia world site too in a photo with me. It's late...I'll write more or call you later. I'll be sure not to be in a restaurant when I do...lest I be "chewed out!!" Check out my site. Thanks for telling me about this one. Love, Terry
Happy Easter to you too!! Do you have any special holiday plans? Your pictures are great! --that tattoo is cool....far more interesting than hair! :)
I got a kick out of the quotes directly above were I am posting....I especially like "I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes!" I'll remember that the next time someone serves me broccoli! "A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand"-
Leo and I stopped by for a visit.
We enjoyed your music especially your Dr Demento. I remember the show as a teenager. omg that was so long ago.
I read Leo you Bio and he was really touched by you words. He cant wait to meet you and neither can I.
