I will be 80 in March, mother of 5 and grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of many. My husband passed away over 5 years ago and I didn't start losing my hair until after that. The doctor thought it was from stress, but I've been under stress all my life. My daughter is now worried that she will lose all of her hair, too. I was told that people are diagnosed with it in their 30s, but I wasn't until my 70s. No one else in my family had it (that I know of). I may post my picture later.

Hi Alvora,
What an interesting story! I was diagnosed in my 20's. Tell your daughter that there is a VERY SMALL (7%) chance your daughter will get alopecia. I did a lot of research for my book.

You remind me of my mom, she is 77 and has started to use the internet.
