I am 35 and noticed my hair had been thinning since an operation in 2005, also with a couple of bald patches. The patches filled in end of 2006 but still had quite dry and thin hair. At the end of summer 2007 i went to the Doctor about may hair. I went back to the Doctors 3 times about it getting extremely thin. 4 months later i get a hospital appointment and blood tests were done. Under-active thyroid diagnosed with low ferritin levels. Was this a trigger for my hair loss, maybe, on thyroid medication now, but still got the hair loss, well at least i am starting to feel a bit better.

Hi Louise,
It can be hard, can't it?! I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. Check it out on my page -- and let me know how else I can help.
