Looks like you haven't been on here in a while but hopefully you still are because I believe you and I have VERY similar situations. I'm a 21 year old guy from the northeast like yourself and I've also been experiencing the diffuse hair loss you described. I noticed it on my head last February, everywhere else this past June, and to this date it just keeps on thinning and falling out, though I still have no completely bald patches. I'm just as lost as you are and I've still got my hopes up that it's not AU. If you havent already look into "chronic telogen effluvium" or "atrophic telogen effluvium." At the moment, those are the only other possible explanations that I've found. Hopefully things have gotten better for you and that's why you're not on here anymore, but if you are contact me, I think we could help each other out quite a bit.
