HI Jean! I found out I had AA in July of 2007. Right before my wedding, can you believe that!! Of course I was told it was stress, but after my wedding hair kept falling. It is not completely gone, about 15% +/- remains. I do have to shave it and I do wear wigs when I go into public, otherwise I just wrap it up. My husband loves to pull my wraps off and wants me to bare it all and I do at night time.
I wish I was as strong as some of the women here. This is a great place for comfort and support and I love that it was created shortly after I was diagnosed.
There's some great people who offer such inspiration and friendships.
Hope to get to know you a bit more. We are all here for eachother and it's just awesome to have that.
Glad your here!!
Hi Jean,
I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. Check it out on my page -- and let me know how else I can help.

Welcome to Alopecia World
Was just curious if you are from Mishawaka (sp?) If so, I am from Kokomo so you could kind of consider us neighbors. Have a great day.
Roger.
