The View upset quite a few members of Alopecia World this week. After announcing that the newly crowned Miss Delaware Kayla Martell has alopecia areata, the show's hosts veered into a discussion about whether black or white women look better bald! I still think Whoopi has alopecia! Unless I missed something, she tended to tread water a little.

Vicki ~ My best friend has said the same thing. I know that she she doesn't have eyebrows. My friend started calling me Whoopie some when I lost my eyebrows which I have no problem with, I have always been a fan of her and her work.

Interesting....and pretty pathetic if she does that she just sat there and didn't say something supportive or educational.

they ae just ignorant and I don't care to watch the show anymore. I work at a health club and everyone knows the view is NOT allowed on our 4 tv's we hve. I tried over and over to email them but never got a response! Now that is rude!!!!

Yup...I sent 3 emails and I know a lot of other people on AW did. Yet, I saw on the news that they had that fame whore (the one who crashed the White House event) on recently - they can devote lots of time to someone like that, yet can't have Kayla on to correct their blunder. Pathetic.

I wasn't offended at all. Im actually happy and surprised that they were talking about Alopecia. I actually laughed a little, some people do have funny shaped heads. But these are comedians they get paid to poke fun and enlighten situations. They weren't speaking negatively of Alopecia, but poking fun at bald shaped heads. You must admit, some people do have oddly shaped heads. But that's why Alopecia World is so awesome because we're embracing and loving ourselves.

I wish there were 'like' buttons on AW..so I can 'like' really good &/or helpful coments. Personally, I have never liked the show, because they all try to talk over each other, and that gets on my nerves. You can't hear any of them when they do that. None of them are listeners.

So not offended! If you have a funny shaped head, it is what it is. How can we expect people to get over it if we're offended by every little thing. Consider that half of the view does comedy so laugh a little! When people don't understand alopecia how can they make an intelligent comment? Don't be mad guys just continue to be strong. Love rocks bald or not.
