Hi AW Friends!

Thank you all for supporting me on my journey to Miss America, and for sending me positive thoughts and prayers the past few months. My dream may be coming true in just 5 weeks, but what matters most is what I can achieve after the crowning. Being able to bring awareness to Alopecia Areata around the world will be one of the highlights of the title.

Please help me fulfill my dream of becoming Miss America 2011 by voting for the video on Youtube, Facebook and on www.missamerica.org/videocontest. Every vote helps! Please send to your friends, too! When you are from such a small state, we need all the support we can get!

I think you are beautiful Kayla and deserve to win Miss America! I will vote in every way possible. It's people like you that show a different side of beauty. Our society is so wrapped up in looks and although you are GORGEOUS, with or without hair, we need to show society that there are all kinds of beautiful. I have struggled with eating disorders for 18 years and also now hair loss. I would love for you to win and show this world that beauty comes in every size, shape and bald! Wow, for sure you have my vote! You are soooo beautiful!!! I have been diagosed with alopecia approx 2-3 months ago. You definately can rock a bald head! :) :)
