Anyone tried Methotrexate-Prednisone for AA

I know there is an active post about this treatment for AT and AU but I wondered if anyone who still has some hair has tried this and what the results were.

No, and I never would! These are serious drugs with horrible side effects...I'd rather wear a wig than risk the horrible side effects and damage to the body. But that's just my opinion. A chemotherapy drug to grow hair??? I think not!

I was given both drugs to treat Hashimoto's Encephalopathy. I grew unwanted hair everywhere. The Prednisone caused me weight gain, acne and hair growth. The Mexthotrexate, I didn't have any trouble with.

Hi Melissa. Did you grow any scalp hair and if so, did you keep it? I have diffuse AA and nothing else has seemed to work, but I know Prednisone side effects are nasty. How long did you take them?
