Hi again!
So I have been wearing wigs for almost 14 years now. When I was younger I used a small bit of two sided tape at the front of my wig but then I got lazy and I have not used any adhesive for years! Also I thought it was not making much of a difference, but lately I have been interested in being able to do more active things like yoga and swimming with my wig on.
So I have some questions cause I feel lost when it comes to this stuff.
First which way do you guys use? Tape? Bonding? etc?
Bonding- how do you even do this?? Do you have to put something extra on your wig cap to put the glue on or do you just glue the wefts? or is it for only certain wigs?

tape? do you put tape all over the wig? do you sew on extra stuff to put the tape on?

I have heard of this derma fix stuff, anyone use it? and do you use glue or tape with it?

Please help with any tips, info and regimes.
Thanks!

Thanks! I do think I should be getting smaller wigs, I will check them out!

My favorite short-term glue is Got 2BGlued spiking gel. It really holds and washes off easily with water. I use it with all types of wigs, from the synethetic wefted ones to the lace wigs. When I know I will do a lot of perspiring, I will use a double-sided tape with a little bit of Mighty Tite for added hold. Most of the time, though, Got 2BGlued is all I really need. It's really great for the lace because in addition to it's glue properties, it also seals the knots around the hairline, preventing shedding.

:) Thanks so much! I am gonna check those all out. I never thought of gluing down the lace but it makes so much sense!

I found that the perfect solution for me,a 24/7 wug wearer (even to sleep/swim) is to
have all my wigs custom sewing altered & then to have DERMAFIX sewn inside the wig caps
and I also wear a SURE GRIP COMFY GRIP GEL HEADBAND under my wigs,

Does the Dermafix still work if you have some hair?

I think it needs bare skin to adhere/ stick to? from what I understand

Erin see my reply to Kio,re Dermafix,
You are right, there cannot be longer than 1 inch of bio hair in the areas of the skin of the head that would ''meet up with'' the dermafix strips,
Hair prevents proper suction seal of the dermafix

-Marsha

Dermafix strips look like childrens finger bandaids. Whereever the strips are sewn in the wigcap, the skin that it would ''seal suction'' with cannot have more than 1 inch of
bio hair, otherwise the seal suction will be poor or non-existent. Thus, you will have
to use scissors or razors to remove hair strands.

I can highly recommend https://dresslily.com particularly if you've got mid to long hair. The wigs are made with real hair and they are very realistic.

Thanks! I know I replied to you in another discussion, but do you have any suggestions for getting it sewn in..is this a difficult thing to do? I just got my dermafix in the mail and don't really know what to do with it now!

contact my personal dermafix expert at Lesleighia7@yahoo.com
She sells the product & also sews the strips inside the wig cap
You can email her & tell her Marsha referred you to her.

Thank you!
