Confused ? Bloods came back ! High prolactin and low progesterone levels ?

Hey guys

I got my bloods back today for diffuse hair loss and severe acne all over body !Really not what l or derma thought it would be ! I have high prolactin level and low progesterone ! I really don't get it as lm showing text book signs of high androgens/testosterone .my derma said he will need to get a second opinion from his fellow dermatologists as he is not experienced in hormonal hair loss /acne .I am so upset now as l thought I would get an answer to this nightmare but now it's back to square one .Has anyone else experienced hair loss and/or acne Due to high prolactin levels or low progesterone ?what caused it and if you got it sorted out how did you do it ?im so gutted !:(

lm really sad and upset today im so disappointed my dermatologist has passed me to an endocrinologists! My progesterone was low which causes hair loss and acne and my prolactin was high but this has nothing to do with hair loss and acne ! I asked him to put me on Yasmin But he said no as he wants me to see the endocrinologist about my high prolactin ! By the time l see them l will have no hair and have more acne scars than l already have ! I'm sick of this ! There would be no harm in putting me on yaz to see if it balances out the progesterone and helps my acne and hair loss in the mean time ! I just can't stop crying ! I feel like such a mess !

When you have high prolactin, they usually do a CAT/brain scan or MRI.  Ask doctors to rule out microadenoma (pituitary tumor--usually noncancerous).

I just now see this is an old message.  How did things work out?
