I believe you should see some response in 3-4 weeks. I've been getting the shots once a month for the past year and have some improvement. Not quite there yet, work in progress.

Oh ok!! I'm so impatiente I just want my hair back lol thank you!

You might want to ask your doctor if you have inflammation on your scalp. Mine told me that if there is no inflammation on the scalp, the injections wouldn't do me any good as the main purpose is to remove inflammation. I received the injections for 3 years off and on and they didn't work for me at all. In fact, I started getting dents in my scalp and decided to disconnect the injections. My doctor also told me that with the injections being steroids, staying on them long term could cause the hair shaft to thin which could make things worse in terms of one's hair restored. I pray you have better success than I did. A member of Alopecia World (AW) told me about a natural Chinese herb someone with Alopecia used and had great success. It's called Ban Tu Wan. The AW member says that after 1 month she personally grew about 3/4 of her hair back after using this herb. I have ordered it and waiting for it to arrive. It might be worth your while to search the web for additional information or search for Ban Tu Wan through AW and read the member's comment about it.

I have a bump right were the shots were given, is that a good sign?

Everyone is different, but I did not see any difference on my head (and in fact think it made things worse). BUT, on the plus side, the shots have fully restored my eyebrows about 4 times. (Then I lose them again after a few months.) It took 2-3 rounds of shots every 6-8 weeks. I also use Rogaine 5% every day and a topical steroid liquid once per week - this seems to help me keep them for longer periods of time.

Whats the steroid liquid you use for your eyebrows?

Hi JeffreySF. It is called Clobetasol in 0.05% strength. I am iffy whether it does much for hair regrowth, but I think it does help a little with inflammation and itching.

I asked my Dermatologist about this and he said if your getting the injections there isn't any use in the topical....

I've had the shots on an off over the years - honestly made no difference until I started making other lifestyle changes (diet, food elimination, supplements etc.). Then I used the shots to "boost" my spots once my body was stabilized.

For the past few months I've been taking biotin 15mg a day, as I found I was deficient in both this and D3. My hair (head, eyebrows, and lashes) are getting thicker by the day - I almost can't believe it. I've been struggling with AA on and off (MUCH more on than off) for the past decade and can't believe that biotin may have been the missing link. Good luck!

Ypsimama: I tried biotin and silica a few years ago but did not find they made a difference for me. I still take a supplement which contains 500 mcg of biotin (I take it twice per day) but I don't know what that is in mg. How did you know how much to take? Did you discover it on your own or did you see a dietician or naturopathic doctor?

I hope this works for you!!!
I'm also taking Biotin and Vitamin D2 2000 iu daily.
