So I just started dating this guy and this is my first relationship. He doesn't know about my alopecia and he keeps touching my hair. He wants to put it behind my ear and move it and always asks me why it feels weird. What should I do? Nobody in school knows about my alopecia and I don't want to tell him yet because this is only our second date. Any suggestions?

When I'm out with anyone, I just tell them the truth about my hair. Once I was talking with a man out in a bar who said, "Will you do me a favor?" "Will you take that off?" I had on a fall wig which has a head band attached to it. I went so far as to partly remove my hair piece to prove that I really did have a disease and got, "Oh God! Put it back on." The difference though is that I was up in my twenties and thirties before I got it badly enough to wear wigs. I think older people are less judgmental. I have gone completely public with my hair loss and have let people think and say whatever they want.
I had a similar situation to yours. When I started working at Samedaypapers, I'd met a guy. At first, I didn't tell him anything, but then I decided: "if he really likes me, he'll accept everything." So, this is my suggestion to you.
I really feel you, I've been here.
Right now we're bound to our houses, so I only meet people online. I'd use free personals from time to time too. It really helps to gain confidence. But again, you should feel comfortable in the first place, not them.
