l went through the same, losing almost all my hair even after years of painful injections, tried everything and nothing, finally tried the dcp as my last resort and bingo! as long as your Dermo gets the dosage right and you can handle the itching, you should be right,to my surprise it worked, just when i thought there was nothing else, l even bought a wig but thanks to dcp l never needed it, my hair all grew back and quicker than l expected, for the first time since l developed alopecia at age 10 or 11 l now finally have a full head of hair with not one patch, l am a 45 year old female, l still apply it every 2 or 3 weeks in combination with rogain every 2nd to 3rd day,its been almost a year if not longer, please don't give up, lm glad l didn't, also check your iron levels vitamin d and bs...good luck, my only wish is that it works for everyone as it has for me,,,xxx
Hi there my daughter diagnosed with AU 4yrs ago started on DCp shortly after, went through some blisters and redness at first but Dr. found right level and been on it for the whole 4 yrs once a week. Currently going to Sunnybrook and was recommended by leading pyhsician from Sick Kids on Alopecia happy to say full head of hair and hasnt had an issue of any sort since still apply once a week as my findings reveal 5 yr term best for longterm results. I've read alot of remarks about irratation but Dr. should be aware and quickly lower percentage to find comfortable and tolerate % Also aware that this condition can change at anytime but glad she stays the course at anytime if she said no more we were done I'm positive the Drs involved made it easy on her.Now the application are slight irratation but nothing unbearable Ispent hours upon hours researching this and you dont need to blister or be very comfortable for it to have effect.Again dont know where you are but Sunnybrook in Toronto has amazing staff thanks to them this process was made easier.
I tried it for a few years and had success but my mum became allergic to it and we could not use it any more.
