I can deal with not having hair for the most part but I'm extremely self concious about not having eyebrows and want to get them tattooed. I draw them myself really good no one knows they are fake but because of the job I have they tend to wear off rather quickly. I was wondering if anyone has done it and what their response was, did it hurt real bad does it age well does it look natural etc. I appreciate the feed back.

I have had mine done by Dominelli's in Vancouver - YES, it hurts, but they do apply a topical ointment - the little bit of pain (to me) is far better than always drawing them on and coming off.....I found for me, I gained more confidence.

Tanya has posted on her wall who she sees to get her brows done.

Good luck.

yes, I have had mine done for about 11 years now - they do fade and have to be re-done every 2 or 3 years....I am needing mine re-done now and looking for someone closer to my area to do it. It does hurt some, but well worth it. I HATED trying to draw them on before. If you use someone that is really good they can make them look more natural - the guy I used in Chicago is wonderful but I can't afford to fly back up to have it done, but he makse hair like strokes using a couple differnt colors of dye. Before you do it, consult with the person/s ask to see their work, pictures, ask to phone number of clients to call them, etc...then decide to use them or not. good luck!

Who did you see in Chicago?

i have answered this question a few months back in an older discussion post but YES, i had my eyebrows tattooed and it was the smartest thing i've done (well that and order a custom european wig). i had my eyeliner tattooed too. i had the tattooes done by a permanent makeup artist and she used "hair strokes" so it looks like hair more than penciled in eyebrows. i definitely recommend getting it done. it looks very natural and it really don't hurt (the eyeliner is a different story).

You might be interested in eyebrow stamps from Stamp Me Fabulous. I've been having a blast using the stamps in different shapes and colors. You stamp on the hair strokes (like a tattoo, and then use powder over them to soften and even out the shape. They stay on pretty well, and sometimes, if I know I will sweat a lot, I use a fixative over them lightly (I like Benefit She Laq, which has been discontinued, but you might be able to get some on eBay).

I really like the eyebrow stamps....maybe because there's no commitment. I can change the shape and color daily to match whatever color hair I decide to wear that day.

Just had my eyebrow tattooed and it was the best thing I could've done!!!! Cut my makeup time by 30 minutes!! I also had my eyeliner done and yes, if they don't leave the topical numbing cream on long enough, the eyeliner hurts like hell. Hey, it hurts to be cute. LOL

I've been very happy I got eyebrow and eyeliner tattoos...but make sure the operator does what you want. The gal that did my first ones in 2008 made the eyeliner too thick and black for me. I just had my brows redone by someone else. Even when they fade, it's nice to have the template to quickly apply powder or pencil. Good luck!

Hi Molly. My eyebrows are tattooed, and I love them. It hurt getting them done, but not bad. I was told they need to get touched up every two years or so because since they are a tattoo, they fade. I drew my eyebrows on for a long time (and I draw badly)! They look really natural, and it's nice to wake up and not have to do anything to look like me. Good luck, let me know what you decide. Have a great day :)

Take a look at this site. It shows how eyebrows can change a face. Flick through the photos.

I had my eyebrows done last year....because i'm worth it! lol

Even men have them done and i'm glad i had them done. Retouch this year.

Awesome site Dom! Thanks for sharing. I get mine touched up every two years. And good point - "because I'm worth it" means a lot! We need to take care of ourselves! Have an great day.

Do the tattoos really look like natural hair, or do they end up looking like pencil drawing anyway? I can't believe that a tattoo can look so...feathered and hairy. I would love to find someone in Chicago to consult.

Thanks for the feed back I have to wait for a response from my chain of command because you can't have face tattoos but I'm a special case lol. Thanks again!
