Hello Everyone! :):):)

I'm looking for a wig,but I hate glue and tape

Does anyone have experience with lace wigs that have a thin skin perimeter?

How does the hairline look, can you wear your hair out of your face and can you wear your wig glueless?

Also..do you find it more durable then a lace front? (i suppose the thin skin is more durable sheddes less)

They feel great. I think it's one of the best new inventions in cap design. The hybrid of getting excellent hair quality ( know your vendor) with the grip benefit of vacuum, but without the heat trapping and at a lower cost.

Yes, you can wear hair back but imho it looks best if the hairline has baby hairs and is not cut even all the way across.

Yes, the ones I've seen are glueless.

Which manufacturer is in the photos?

I have not used the glue or tape on my lace wigs. However I did find Comfy Grip Gel Bands that cushions your scalp and keeps your wig from slipping. I just ordered one from Paula Young, as where I live one of the specialty stores that deals in wigs, bras etc quit carrying them due to the cost, they were around $35, so I found the bands in Paula Young, not a whole lot cheaper, but I find they are comportable, it has a velcro adjustment, just go to her web site and take a look, it might not be what you are looking for, but I also have ordered 3 wigs from her and have great luck, mine are all lace, but before I found the comfy grip I wore them right on my scalp and found that I was very irritating and the wig slipped, not to mention the wind that we get her in Montana. Good luck and let me know how it works out. I am trying to find eyebrows and eyelashes if anyone has any suggestions as to who would be good to check out...Have a great day

Thanks for your reaction Mary,I will look at her website!

As for the eyebrows and eyelashes,I haven't used eyebrows but have ordered eyelashes from this site
They also sell eyebrows that look very realistic and have something like semi permanent eyebrows you can paint on (just type eyebrows in the searchbar of the site )

Good luck!
BeautyTrends has eyebrows and lashes....luckily I don't need them yet, but it's good to know your options!
They also have the gel band.

Linda,

Thanks for the info on the eyebrows and lashes..I'll have to check out the gel band as far a prices, as they are pricey anyplace I have checked. As far as my experience goes with ordering wigs from Paula Young, that as long as you don't take the tag off, you can return the wig if you don't like it for some reason, which is good to know.
Hi Thea :)

Really...so you are positive about them...

To me they're very appealing, the hairlines look very natural and I guess they would shed a lot less than lace front wigs, and glueless, but the information that I have found is mixed, some say that it looks natural and some say that it doesn't look good at all,so that's contradictory..
Some vendors even say that they don't like the thin skin perimeter at all and don't recommend them.

I can't remember which manufacturer is in the photo with long hair, but the short hair is a Chinese factory : (if you click on the photo you can get a bigger size shot,it looks really natural)

Here are a few sites that offer these wigs:
http://www.premiumlacewigs.com/en/products/Cap_designs_list_16_Y_1....

I think it's cheaper to order directly from the manufacturer...

I have also found online vendors that offer these cap constructions, some of them have visible knots..very odd
Here's a video http://www.youtube.com/user/upscalehair#p/u/1/pzPctlDpb7U

Another vendor: http://lacelocswigs.com/melanie-swiss-lace-wig-with-thin-skin-perim...

Do you have experience with vendors, and would you reccomend them to others?
What is your impression about these links I've posted?
I've seen some samples. Maybe thin skin is a generic term. I suppose as with all things there are many ways to create a perimeter that doesn't slip. I liked the feel of the ones I've had a chance to try on. I've never bought any wigs online, so I have no point of reference for those. It's always interesting to see what's out in the market, so thanks for the links to take a look.

As you noted, the cap and the knots ......can be quite variable from factory to factory. You can have great cap, poor hair. Great hair, poor cap. Great cap, great hair, abysmal customer service.

It's very hard to find the right individual solution!

Thea
You're welcome there's much to see.
Yes indeed that's so true, there are so many variations in quality
It's almost impossible to sort everything out especially over the internet.

Does the ste vendor where you bought yours have an internet site?
Search on youtube, and you will find more reviews of lace wigs CV. Tye are more reliable.

I can highly recommend https://dresslily.com particularly if you've got mid to long hair. The wigs are made with real hair and they are very realistic.

Thanks,I need something that breathes because I transpire a lot,so a full cap is not for me
