I have AU and wear nothing on my head. I have eyebrows tattooed, and body tattoos. But I would love to have a head tattoo, but I am 54 and dont want to commit until I am sure.
Does anybody have tatts on their head? If so I would love to see them and hear what experiances people have. Ten yrs ago I would just had had it done a b.....ks to anybody, but as I have lost a lot of confidence, not only due to Alopecia but other medical conditions, which have affected me.
As with all aolpecians that go without coverings, we get stared at anyway, so will not be new to be stared at.
So lets hear and see your opinions, please.
Just waiting to see Toni Warne on the voice....you go Toni.

Hey! I'm in the same situation, I am wanting birds drawn behind my ear round my head. I think u should go for it, tattoos a d there to express yourself! Alopecia is a shit thing, why not make it pretty lol!!! I say go for it, I think it would be pretty sore, but tbh I think if you can get your eyebrows tattooed you can do anything lol xxxxxx

I don't have AU, or have lost all of my hair, but if I did I would TOTALLY get a head tattoo. Sarah, your comment made me think of this picture.

She is an amazing artist. As soon as I saw that drawing I immediately thought, "OHH that's a good tattoo idea!" :)

NO. Don't do that to yourself. But then again, I know you're going to probably do it anyway just because I said no. Perhaps I'm just old fashioned. I still say no. But I digress..

Hey there. Im 51 with hairloss. Like you I have other medical conditions that have really bashed my self confidence. I wear wigs but, I did go out once last summer with my head shaved. Ive been toying with the idea of having henna tattoos done on my head this year. My friends and family think its a good idea but Im building up the courage to find someone to actually do them for me. Maybe you could consider that idea? Henna tatts would not be permanent and give you a trial run before you commit to something more permanent. Regards, Jx

Hi J Yes a henna tattoo would be good, just have to find somebody to do it. Its all a matter of choice, its our choice how we deal with things, nomatter what people say, unless you have suffered with Alopecia you will never fully understand, "its only hair" is said by those you have hair.

I like this idea

As long as it won't be a problem for a career that you truly want or need and you are really sure, I say go for it!

It's something I have been thinking of doing myself for years....just have not found the right tattoo yet that I think would represent me and that I can live with for the next ???? Years. I think it would give me more confidence since the tattoo is a choice, alopecia not so much. Anyways, I think if its something you really want then go for it, you can always start out with something small.

Hi, I have AA and shaved all of my hair off last Nov. I also noticed a few years before shaving that I had a scar on the back of my head and when I finally decided to shave it stood out like a sore thumb. I had 3 hearts tattooed behind my ear a few years earlier but they are on the opposite side of the scar so when I would go to the grocery store and people stood behind me in the line I would be so self conscience thinking they were concentrating on my scar. After stressing about it my husband encouraged me to get a tatt over it. I did and have never looked back. It is a small rose and you can't tell where the scar was (see pic). I am so glad I did it and I get so many compliments.
Good luck which ever decision you decide to do.

Thanks for sharing that Sara its lovely, Im looking at something about that big.

Interestingly, the first thing one of my godsons said when he saw my shaven head was "now all you need ia to get a tattoo".

Since I love hearts and my brand is "The Heart Lady" I've seriously considered getting a heart. Just not sure where to place it. Would love to see your's.

I still cant make up my mind. My son has a friend whos wife is desinging tattoo's for a studio, she also has done hennah designs on hands, for people who do not want anything perminant. I migh ask her is she could do a hennah one on my head, then I can seen what it is like. If I do I will let you know.
