Help! (Prednisolone?)
After a very stressful episode my eyebrows have really thinned out and I have lost a part of my moustache . I have no hair on my head and up until recently had a moustache but no beard.
My moustache on 1 side is now gone and I am terrified of my eyebrows going again like before. I don't know what I would do...
I have been prescribed Prednisolone for a few weeks starting with 40mg for 3 days then reducing by 5mg every 3 days. I do realise this is a very short pulse and I am sceptical about seeing any results despite the side effects..
Has anyone here tried Prednisolone before ?
How long did it take for hair to grow if at all?

At this time there is no cure for alopecia. It is a precocious, unpredictable condition that is challenging to manage.
Steroids do bring back hair, but you can not use, or take steroids (Prednisolone is a Steroid), for ever. So, even though they may work to bring hair back unless you have gone into a natural remission your hair will once again fall out once the medication is stopped.

I find it hard to believe that no one has tried prednisolone here. There are virtually no new topics or replys . Does anyone actually use these forums??

Not all are in the same place you are...there are different needs and questions. Many people have read your post but I'm afraid as Aimee has said there is very little to add. Don't feel disheartened or alone, people react to alopecia in many different ways and not all try drug therapies.
