I've been bald for a year now,and I've actually received more compliments than rude comments and uncomfortable stares. How do you handle the attention?

Hello Beautiful I hate when people look at me because I'm bald wear scarf and wigs but sometimes I go without anything but not much lol some people are just not nice at all.

Going without anything makes me feel like I'm not completely dressed.   Even though I've gotten some high compliments, I still like to wear something.   I once had someone way, "I'm tired of that hat."   They never stopped to think that maybe this was the only comfortable thing I had.  Head covers can be expensive.

Congratulations. You are pretty. Don't mind the others that are staring. They were probably just jealous. :)

You are amazing and so strong to go bald. I want to be able to do that someday. I go bald around the house but not when people are around. only with family or close friends can I be real. Sometimes in the car I take off my head covering but feel a great knot in my stomach when someone looks at me. I am not brave, strong enough to just go out natural.

When I wear my head wraps so many people assume I have cancer. How to respond is different for each situation.

By the way, what do you do when your eyelashes fall out? I worry how to keep my eyes free of bugs and dirt.

Cherie

I'm a pretty active person and I would love to hear a response for keeping dirt and crap out of my eyes. One of my bike rides, since I've lost the lashes, ended in me taking a bunch of little, very little, rocks out of my eyes, wasn't horribly painful but I definitely wasn't expecting it. I'm no good at fake eyelashes and I don't care to wear them but I wonder if they would work the same way. As for a partial answer; I avoid or close my eyes when I see puddles or debris under my bike tires. I also make a point to haveing my sunglasses when I'm out. As for the going out bald, you do need to find your inner strength, it's there, even if you haven't used it lately but if going out bald is what you want to do then don't be your biggest enemy.
