Its the giving season and you can truly see how kids love to give with a happy heart. In January, I want to organize kids at our school to grow hair for children who need wigs.Spring is the best season to grow hair apparently.
Does anyone have information on this, ex how long it takes and how to care for hair.
I am thinking of giving kids little incentives for each inch, hair bands, accessories then find volunteer hairdressers to cut and style their hair at the end. Maybe get their nails done and an age appropriate makeover!
Any info is appreciated.
(I want to donate locally though)

Not to put a damper on your efforts cause I think it's really awesome that you are doing this but you may want to look into what hair is accepted (not just what they say they accept). I had a wig maker come to my support group once and he told us that most of the hair that is donated is thrown out because they can't use it. Unless you have really strong thick hair, they generally will not use it. The hair has to be a certain length, I don't remember what it was, something like minimum of 8" to cut off and it has to be undyed. That's why most of the human hair they use already is from India and Europe. If you visit Locks of Love's website I believe all the prerequisites are there for hair requirements. Hope that helps and good luck! :)
