Hair club america and celebrity style wigs offer free wigs for if she is 17 or under. Look them up on the web and call and ask about these programs. I get my daughters human hair wig from a chinese vendor and pay under $500 for a good quality wig. Message me if you want that site.
Bestwigoutlet.com has very suitable prices! If you register, they email you these 30% off coupons all the time, at least two a month. I think they have a 30% off going on right now!
What kind of wig does she want. Jon Renau has some remy human hair long wigs that are nice. The Impressions wig called Tricia on the Lori's wigsite is made with thin skin around the perimeter so made for those with total alopecia and it is a pretty good price. It comes in a small size-since your daughter is only 8 or 9 maybe she needs a small size cap.
Hi

Another option might be to get in touch with Locks of Love. I noticed there was a young girl on here a wee while ago that received her hairpieces from this organisation.

Variety Club may be another source of help if you need financial assistance.

I truly wish you could have the best hairpiece for you and your daughter (no matter what you feel that is) and money wasn't the issue. It makes me so frustrated that money (understandably) tends to limit the help available. I so wish Governments and organisations around the world would combine to get help for those that require it.

I understand your want to supply a hairpiece that helps your daughter with her alopecia and her lifestyle. If I can be of any help please feel free to contact me.

I suggest you definitely check out the Hair Club for Kids website, http://www.hairclub.com/hc-for-kids.php. My daughter is 17 and started getting wigs from Hair Club when she was 15. They are beautiful wigs and completely free, if you qualify. She gets three wigs a year. We just received our last wig, and will have to find some place to get her wigs now. She starts college in the fall, so am hoping she will become more comfortable with her alopecia.
I wear wigs from Forever Young almost everyday and I think they look really cute. Synthetic wigs hold the style and require very little maintenance. I trim the bangs myself and try to customize the look a little. I also sew a couple of toupee clips on the front to hold the wig in place close to my hairline.

Good luck whatever you decide to do.
