I got alopecia and I'm about to lose my left eyebrow, still got most of my hair, besides being bald, and some patches in beard.  It sucks that my eyebrow is going to be the first to go completely and that really the only place I want some hair, besides inside my nose.

So any males have success with fake eyebrows?  I've seen some pretty good ones offered at aliexpress.com, but I don't know how legit they are, since I've seen no reviews.  I was also thinking that I could wear glasses and have them cover up having no eyebrows and make it less noticeable.  Any guys have success or they just go w/ nothing.

Also I've had contacts now for about 10+ years, and when I started them, I noticed how I kept getting eyelashes in my eyes and it being a real problem with the contacts.  I dont know if I just noticed it more with the contacts in, or of if the contacts where causing me to lose eyelashes.  I hardly take them out like I"m suppose too and I'm wondering if this is causing me to lose my eyebrows and eyelashes.

Anyone else wear contacts mainly, have problem losing their eyebrows or eyelashes??

I've recently lost my top left eyelash and have lost my right eyebrow. A difficult time to get through in addition to having numerous patches on my head. Things could be worse, so my head is still up high.

I did find a glasses company that you should look into. They have a home try on kit that enables you to order and try on 5 glasses at a time, for free. I found a few models that cover enough of the eyebrows and help my mindset. Hope this helps you

Google: Warby Parker then find the try on at home kit. Add the glasses to your cart and order. CC is required, but no charge will be posted unless you keep them.

Looked into fake eyebrows, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

So is the price they give, is that what you pay, or is there hidden fees and such?  They do come with prescription lenses, correct?

What models do you like?  So far I got 3 in the cart, need another 2.  Thanks man

Yeah i know I'm bad with my contacts.  My eyebrows are black and its hard to find black ones, I dont think a brown black would work, but maybe.  ALso I've thought about getting some regardless of color and maybe dyeing them black, would this work or mess them up?

What's up, man? I lost both of my eyebrows in high school around Sophomore year. I thankfully have the ability to grow my hair out and have my bangs cover most of where my eyebrows would be. However, in high school, I had a strict dress code and needed my hair really short. So I went online and bought fake eyebrows through the website HeadCovers. One pair usually lasted me 6 months and it was only 40-50 dollars. I did this for 5 years, until last December, my dogs fucking ate them when I was taking a shower (can't shower with them). I did not want to go anywhere and I isolated myself from everyone and everything, even skipped college classes and work. Then, my parents went to a store inside the mall and purchased me an Anastasia Eyebrow Pencil. I have been using that for a month now and I think it looks a lot more real. I have gotten pretty good at it. Nobody has called me out on it before at all. It washes off in a shower, and if you sleep with it drawn on, it may fade a little. But that's an easy fix. I wouldn't go having one night stands with bitches if you want to keep your Alopecia a secret - but you get the idea. I hope this was helpful and you find something that works out for you in the near future.

By the way, anybody else find it ironic that this text box doesn't realize Alopecia as a real word?

Thanks man, I'm going to look into that.  See I'm bald, so I have no hair to help cover that.  I was thinking of getting glasses to help with that.  So you think the drawn ones look more real than the false eyebrows?  Even with not having the 3D look that real or fake ones provide?

It's the ends of the fake eyebrows that scream false. That, and they were way too large. If I had eyebrows, they would be thinner, which is how I draw them. Ironically, today I was eating lunch with my friend who I've known since Freshman year of college (I'm a Senior now) and she knows of my alopecia. She looked at me weird and said, "Oh my God! Did your eyebrows grow back!?" She thought they were totally real. She said they looked amazing and better than the ones I glue on.

Do whatever best suits you. I sadly have the advantage of my bangs. So, I cannot speak for you. And I am so sorry to hear that your scalp hair is gone too. I will be there one day, I'm sure. But anyways, do you. My preference is the Anastasia eyebrow pencil. After a week or so, you'll be very good at drawing them on that you won't need a stencil whatsoever.

I've also flirted with the idea of semi-permanent eyebrows. I've heard they look exactly like how I draw mine on. And them being semi-permanent, I can shower with them on and not have to worry and take the time to keep drawing them on. I just don't trust anybody but myself in this type of situation. I'm trying to break through that. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. But remember, whatever path you choose doesn't change how much we all care about you. We're all in it together.

Except for those non-alopecians that are in here. They can take their perfect hair and stick it.

permanent make up might be solution for your eyebrows they look very natural...individual hairs are tattoed in to your skin..

facebook: long time liner conture make up Herefordshire

I would like that but I guess right now I'm at the point where I still think I can cure this somehow w/ changes in diet and exercise.  Also if tattoed, will the hair not be able to grow back b/c of the tattoo?

Hair may still grow back desepite a tattoo.

Hi check out headcovers.com  I have been wearing there eyebrows for over a yr WOW what a diff no one can tell I don't have any.....I glue  on Mond mornings and take them off sunday night to air out my skin,  sometimes thruout the week I touch up with some glue but they are great, they have them for men too...... 50$ a pair but last me about 4-6 months I am careful with them .....example when standing in shower I don't run water over them I make sure they don't get flushed away........  check it out.........like I said no one can tell they are not real.

cheers Denise :)

Fake eyebrows look fake to me... I tried and it did not look good at all. Also, I can see when someone has fake eyebrows... this is my opinion, maybe I didn't see the best ones...

And for makeup, well it is even worse.... specially on a guy. It does not look natural at all. Once again, maybe the one I saw were not good artist.

I had same problem you have with contact lenses.

Now I wear glasses and it is fine!

Aimee,

you are probably right, you focus more on things when you have them... I don't remember which brand I tried. But it was not natural looking at all. I think it is a case by case... for example, a wig on me does not look natural, even the TOP QUALITY ones.  Think about some models, they are able to wear any kind of hats, wigs, etc... everything suits them very well.

anyways... we are all gonna make it!
