Hi Again,
Just want to say a big thank you to those of you who have chattered with me, become my friend, and all the encouragement and comments I have received to my previous posting, it has helped me a lot!

My next question is ...Actually I have a few...
My Lovely Daughter has what her and I are calling "fuzz" looks like baby hair sort of, as she is of dark complexion, her hair was dark brown, this fuzz is blond like me!
* Is it new hair growth? And why is it coming in blond?
* Will it change to her natural color?
* Before she lost her hair (not much left of it now) she had very long ringlet type hair, will it grow back the same?
I think it is kinda cute, the fuzz that is, but she does not know what to make of it! I am hoping it is new hair!

* She still has about 5% of her hair,as it is very long, we have been finding for a few weeks now,the condition has really deteriorated, the pieces at the back and sides mat together very easily,Kinda looks like dreads... for example: We combed it out last night, the only way to do this is to use a spray bottle and Afro comb, and gentley do a small piece at a time. She has a loose weave knitted hat she wears (kinda like a reggae style hat) within a couple of hours it was matted together again...It is painful for her to comb her hair...
* Has anyone had this happen to them - and what did you do?
* My suggestion was maybe we need to cut it to just below the neck, and maybe it won't do this...and we would be able to manage it better!
*Good suggestion??
Appreciate any ideas, thoughts, or experiences on any of my questions! Have a great day!!

My daughter held on to every last hair. We used alot of detangler, but it mats as it falls out. I think that the fuzz is encouraging. My daughter's growth started like that and is now dark. If her hair returns it will most likely be the same as before. It was interesting now that my daughter is getting her hair back she said that if it falls out again that she will shave immediately and not put herself through the torment of losing it. As a mom you just have to support their decisions but you will shed alot of private tears, I know I did. The good news is my daughter is one happy camper going on full speed ahead with life and college. It doesn't have to define her.
Thanks Karen, Rosemarie has called this morning, and I have had a good long chat with her, so has Mikaela...
and as you said it mats when it falls out...and there is nothing we can do! Just good to know what is happening to her hair. As we are getting through this, and getting answers it is helping us to process and accept what is happening, and not be so morbid about life! :)
mine came in blond too even though im a natural redhead, it was soo weird but after it grew out a little it turned back to red so im sure it will change back.
that great 2 hear. once we got over the shock of hair comjng back so quickly, she is still loosing her long hair, thought she would be sometime without hair, we decided if it stayed, she could always dye it if it didnt suit her.
