Pitted fingernails

Hi.

I have pitted finger nails, not really noticeable but still. my finger nails are have groves along them.
I read online that people who have pitted fingernails are more likely to have poorer outcomes with AA. my hair loss seems so have slowed down but im still concerned.

My question is does anyone else have pitted fingernails, and if so, did you lose all your hair? How did your AA progress?

I have the whole pitted fingernails going on and when my hair starts coming out, it goes fast. I lost all my hair at three years old, shortly after being diagnosed, and then it all came back at about age twelve to fall out again slowly for a couple years and then POOF like blowing on a dandy lion at twenty-one. I've had no more regrowth for about three years now. Okay, well I have some peach fuzz coming back in but I've learned not to count on it. I have AU but sadly the few hairs on my arms still outnumbers what's found on my head lol.

I think one of the hardest parts about alopecia is that it effects everyone different. Your pattern may end up being completely different than anyone else's so just keep hope. I haven't ever really read much about the pitted fingernails, only that it is seen sometimes with those who have alopecia. I wonder......if that is true, could it possibly be an early early sign if my daughter were to have alopecia but not showing yet?? Hmmmm......I'm very intrigued now. I may have to open the books back up, so to speak, and do a little research that I haven't done in ages.
