Pitted nails
Hi
Has anyone else ever had pitted nails, like the texture of a timble whilst suffering with AA? I have read somewhere that the two things are linked. The first time I experienced hair loss (AA in the ophiasis pattern) I noticed weird 'dimples' on my nails and did not realise there was a link with my hair. My hair has been falling out again over the last two and a half years, even worse than the first time, but my nails are normal.
Just interested to know if anyone else had experienced the same hair / nail link?

Yep on my hands. Just recently all 10 became pitted (I think I had 1 or 2 that were holding out!). The pitting stopped when I was put on a prednisone taper for 6 weeks, but after a few months and less than a year, the pits started reappearing.
I also have ophiasis! (Just realized last week when the doctor pointed out the pattern of my most recent episode)

My thumbnails are pitted as well! Ive heard they were a link before, but didnt even piece the two together beforehand! VERY intresting!

Yes, but in my case it was only temporary and my nails are OK now. Be aware not tear off pieces as it then recovers slowly.
