Has anyone had problems with wig suppliers? The most recent wig i purchased, was supposed to be here a week ago, still not here. the lady wont return calls and i dont have time to drive out to PG county to find out what the heck is going on. I feel like im being taken! The worst part is that i put in this order so it would be in long before this week (big meeting of my and my boyfriends parents, and a concert at the end of the week). i feel like screaming im so disappointed.

This topic interests me a lot. There are way too many horror stories about bad service, hair that tangles, vendors misrepresenting hair quality who will not stand behind what they sell. There should be an enforceable truth in labeling law for wigs, but there is none yet. Even if there was a law, there are no ways to pay for enforcement.

I order from iwig.com because I love their customer service and hair quality. ( see my hair in the Today show segment) Erica is listening to the needs of women with alopecia and is not trying to just sell you something. I like her standards as a businesswoman and as a compassionate wig maker. That matters to me personally.

Starting today, if you mention you are referred from BGDL, they will waive the custom fit charge ( a $35 saving). What they routinely do is send out more than one wig to try out if you request it. See what you like. Most people are just fine with the wig from stock. But if you need a more custom fit, it takes time and labor so they charge the fee.

paid by them.
Good luck!!!!
thanks everyone! this was my first full lace wig and i wasnt sure i was measuring correctly for the proper fit, so i found someone local who did fittings and ordered the pieces thru her supplier. My biggest complaint is that the piece was supposed to be here a week and a half ago, but it was delayed (she eventually said it was because the indian virgin remy hair i wanted in the length that i wanted was on back order.

I had hoped that having a brick and mortar shop would make them more professional and attentive, but not so much.

i just got an email from her saying that it should be in tomorrow, and we will see how it goes. I missed the big dinner with the parents with new hair, but maybe i can make the concert. *sigh* this piece better be worth it. next time im ordering online. at least then i can stop my payment and find a new vendor if this happens.

I will letchall know what happens tomorrow!
no i went to the dinner, just wore my old wig, the one i was hoping to replace. booooo :(

i know they probably didnt mind, but i did, and wanted to look my best, definitely didnt feel like i looked my best *pout*
yeah i learned this early on when buying wigs, but unfortunately alot of these suppliers are overseas, so you really never know what you are getting. :(

lesson learned!
well just got back from the salon, got my new hair - it looks great! almost worth the headache. the only bad thing is that the bonding at the nape is already come up (i asked for the 6-7 day hold adhesive) so looks like im gonna have to rebond the back myself, but all in all the hair looks good.

the lady was super apologetic. i dont think she realized how unprofessional she was until i started to get angry. i even got a discount on the unit!

what do yall think?

Thanks!!! :) I want to be able to take off the piece and wash and perform maintenance at least once a week - an extended hold will make that more difficult. the bonding i had is supposed to hold for 7-10 days, i just think my body chemistry is off. so i am experimenting with combos of stuff like using the liquid adhesive, then layering tape over that and seeing how long that holds.
