I am newly diagnosed with Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia and was hoping to hear from members as to what type of wig or hairpiece they have had success with. Completely devastated by the diagnosis and at a loss about where to turn for information. Thank you for any information you can provide.

I have lupus alopecia aerta heres my story @ Beautifulhairx.com please read my story. With skin disease and hair loss you can't just wear anything because of sensitivity. Also have a blog to help others like you and I. Good luck

Hello, please read my story regarding my daughter with AU and the trip I took to China to take control over her wigs. If I could not control the loss of her hair, I was going to control  what type of wigs she would wear. Please let me know if I may be of anymore help with information on wigs or support. I am a phone support person for NAAF.

So sorry Tina A, that you have to deal with hair loss. We know how devastating it is. Then trying to find replacement hair is a whole 'nother battle that can be frustrating and costly. I'm not sure how much hair  you lose with your condition. If you only need to cover the frontal area, there are great little pieces for that. I have expertise with FULL head wigs or hair pieces, having bought from SO MANY.  I had been reading on here how you could buy human hair wigs from China for good prices, but the websites were too intimidating. So when Alo-Mom put together a match of China made quality custom made human hair, cuticle intact with a breathable base, I bought! If only I had this wig in the beginning... IF ONLY. Email or call Lisa (see Alo-mom on this site)  She will walk you through getting a good wig for a very reasonable price.

I also own two FREEDOM pieces which I love... but I can't do anything in them without getting sweaty. They cost about $4,695.  My wig from Alo Mom was $840   Not sure what exactly you want...hope this helps.

Thank you so much, Rose, for your response. At this point, I have only recently been diagnosed with Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia. As the name indicates, it is a condition with permanent hair loss along the front and sides of your hairline. I have visited a local salon specializing in hair replacement. They offer human hair and Cyberhair wigs and hairpieces. The owner is a very compassionate woman, but I found the process a bit overwhelming. I have begun steroid injections to reduce the hair loss, and hopefully they will be successful. In the meantime, I am trying to gather as much information as I possibly can re: hair replacement options.

I am so grateful to you and all the women who have responded to my post. It helps to know that I am not alone in my journey. Will contact AloMom shortly, once I can put together a list of questions.

Thanks, again, for your great suggestions and for taking the time to reach out to me.
Thank you for your recommendation of custom made wigs, Kristin. Your photo is lovely, so obviously your choice works well for you! So new to all this, and finding it very intimidating. I truy appreciate everyone being so willing to share their experiences and recommendations.
