I live in Southern Africa in Botswana which is mostly a semi desert dry climate. Since losing my eye lashes my eyes are constantly red from dust irritation. Who would have thought that eye lashes could do such a good job of filtering dust!! Anyone else experience this, and if so how do you deal with it?

I know what you mean, I work in a very dusty environment and I'm always getting something in my eyes. I tried wearing classes (safety type) at work but I just couldn't deal with them. When my eye's get bad I use natural tears eye drops and that seems to help.
I wear glasses to deal with it, but lately I have had some issues with dry eyes. I am AU and haven't had anything that I could call "proper" eeye lashes for decades. I just had temporary punctal plugs put over my lower tear ducts to help keep moisture in my eyes. If they help, I will probably opt for permanent plugs. I apparently make enough tears, but they evaporate too quickly. The plugs help to retain moisture in the eye. That might help you to deal with the climate and environment where you live.
I can relate, I've been sanding log walls in our cabin and my eyes always have crusties in the morning and when I go outside in the cold or the wind my eyes are always watering and squinting doesn't help either, not without the eyelashes. I've also noticed in our winter months that having no nose hairs makes my nose run like a tap, literally, I don't know it's running until it's actually dripping and that's really embarrassing. I think it's because without the nose hairs I don't get that tickle to warn me that my nose is running. This is all so new to me.
New to me too- same embarrassing nose problem- I did get glasses to wear - nice frames - non prescription lens- and have noticed that wearing them outside has decreased the nose runs considerably...don't know why wearing the glasses helps, but it does :)
I have the same problem with my nose My wife will send a signal to let me know that my nose is running when were in a group of friends. I can't feel it eaither.
I live in Tennessee during the summer it get's very dusty here. I agree eye lashes do wonders
when i cut grass there are times i shut my eyes to go through dust because my eyes burn and get red. i don't know what to do about it.Also do you get a headache after. the next day I
