Hi Heather

Thank you for your comments. I am unsure as to what a "natural hair loss" should be whilst in regrowth. As you have read by my posts, i also suffered from Alopecia Totalis, and I eventually got regrowth, white hair, which is still growing now. I have a few strands still falling out here and there, which is just natural hair loss. To this date i have not had another alopecia cycle, so fingers crossed! Cheers :-)

hi,

I have lots of white hair and I dyed it at the weekend. Unfortunately the dye did not stick to it!!annoying so am looking for alternative.Derm match does but expensive.

Hi Snowflake,

It's been a while  :)  

I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions about your hair regrowth for me. (And anyone else who would like to share would be greatly welcomed too).  

My hair started to grow in white at the beginning of the year but fell out a couple of months later.  I have since learned of the connection between my hair loss and my low vitamin B12 and now my hair has been growing again for the last 6 weeks.  There is quite a bit on the top now but they are white thin hairs that you can only see fairly close up.  I was wondering how long it took before you had a full head of the white hairs?  And then how long it takes to start to colour?  I've read 3 months for the white then another 6 months for the colour.  I know everyone is different but I am interested to know other people's experiences.

Long time.. nice to hear from you.. sure i dont mind answering any questions...

Well to this date, my hair is continually growing, 12 months ago, i was completely bald. I have not had any alopecia "attacks" since. I try to put in back of my head that it is very likely to happen again, but try to think it wont! So i suppose i am lucky.

I think it took about 6 months for full coverage of the hairs to grow back, they all grew back snow white. I have spots where they are still growing dark. My white hairs are not changing color, i am stuck with this snow white it seems ;-) 

I go the hairdresser at least every 4 weeks, to get the dark spots dyed in to match my white hair. My hairdresser always checks my hair and notices lots more white regrowth as well.. as there are some areas that are thinner than others. I get occasional haircuts as well.. so it is definitely growing! The longest part of my hair, on top, would be about 4 inches.  My family call me Pink now, as my hair and the style is very much like hers! 

Unlike most other people, i did not pursue medical reasons and get tests done to see why all this happened, mine was so drastic in how it all went, there was no time i suppose. It was what it was!  All i am doing is trying not to be stressed, and trying to get fit and healthy.. seems to be working for me at the moment!

Thanks Snowflake your information is very helpful.  That's great your hair is still growing, hopefully my hair will look like yours in a few more months.  Ill come back to this thread and let you know what happens.
