After Lauras 'Does anyone smke' discussion I noticed there are a lot of varied opinons out there which is fantastic and it seems everyone is respectiful of each others decision to smoke or not to smoke. I thought i'd go one further and ask if anyone smokes weed or has in the past? I only ask because before I became a mumma I partied a lot and smoked almost on a weekly basis. Now I'm not condoning the use of drugs in ANY WAY but from a medicinal perspective my hair aways grew after a week or so of smoking a lot. I don't know if they've done ny studies on this or if anyone has experienced similar bt i'd like to know what you think.

Than if that is the case Paul my hair should not have fallen out from smoking it once or twice lol!!! Maybe I should continue to smoke it, despite the fact that I dont like it!! lol
Great topic, especially as a theory of MJ being a possible treatment option. I thought this once myself but unfortunately, I have to disagree that it helps in any way shape or form with alopecia. Sure it can relax you, just like smoking may but it has no more effect on an alopecian than these treatments that are available. Alopecia will do what it wants regardless of what you're doing/not doing and like the effects of medical treatments, the fact that the hair is coming back is purely coincidental. Sorry to burst your bubble but this is coming from someone who was married to a major pot head for over 11 years (and partook quite heavily). My hair didn't start doing anything until just a couple of years ago and the fact that I stopped smoking pot hasn't affected my hair growth in the least. It may just be that when we have happy, relaxed lifestyles that we seem to benefit most. ;)
Well, Norm's comments about children reading these posts made me stop and think. I'm new-ish here and I honestly never even thought about kids reading the discussions.
So tell me, does everything really we write have to be rated PG?
Look, I'm sure the kiddies on the Internet are getting into FAR worse than this!
And maybe it is just COINCIDENCE! What a concept! :)
Ugh I want to write so much but just can't be bothered now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is supposd to be a site for all of us outcasts to be accepted and free - there is enough bullshit and smart arses out there that we deal with on a DAILY basis that don't have a clue what we go through. I don't want to be having to deal with it in here. I just want to be able to have a serious discussion about something that 'outsiders' would probably laugh at and say yeah nice excuse or you just want to get high so you don't want to worry about being bald. Norm I am so offended by your comments it's not even funny. Telling us to lighten up when really your comments were totally inappropriate. Yes you are right kis may be viewing this site but it was a legitimate discussion about a possibe treatment/cure and where else could I ask such a personal question???? Kids are gonna experiment whether they read this or not. As a single mother from the day my first child was born almost 6 years ago, Alopecia sufferer for 27 years, CVID sufferer diagnosed 1 week ago, business owner - I have enough stress in my life and trying to be positive is a never ending battle. Perhaps YOU should think before you write and know that what YOU have said has made a full grown adult sink into a hole.
Danielle, I have another take on this. People in my generation have seen far too many friends, idols and our own children die of drugs that started with marijuana use...so we are sad, angry, and protective of future generations. We didn't think this way before 30 (Baby Boomers were also once hippies)...but do so now. My friend's son just ODed last spring and died. I have a five-year restraining order on my first baby because, at 24, he stole my belongings and broke two doors getting into my house on Easter. Respect for feelings goes two ways...and anyone who has heard my pain and tears about my son would agree with me. Some of us have lived a long enough time to see huge tolls taken personally, physically, mentally, legally, financially, socially, romantically, matrimonally, familially, professionally, spiritually ...even with our own safety and house rental jeopardized.

My "hole" over my child and loss of family/holiday life is very real and deep. Some of us have had alopecia for 48 years...or more...and have seen life and society through the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, 'til now. Tell us what you think at 55 and up.
Hi Tallgirl - thanks for the message. I'm in no way discounting that you and Norm and others have a different and valid views on the subject particularly when drugs have affected you and your loved ones so badly. This was a personal attack and 'making fun' juvenile comments. Like I said I am in no way condoning the use of drugs I was simply asking if people had had any hair growth due to the use of marijuana. Not drugs are good, not I know so much because I have lived a very full life mre than some 70 year olds - so age has no relevance here. I resent the disrespect and not valuing one another. One last thing - I have been wanting to ask that question for 8 years now. 8 years. And I finally found somewhere I thought I could feel comfortable enough to ask. A safe place. Wow how wrong I was. This has turned so bitter and I realy dont want to be a part of it anymoe.
i have smoked weed but i havnt done it enough to know if it has any direct effect but with my knowlege of alopicia and of weed i would say it would make alot of sense for it to help with regrowth.
Hi everyone I so apprecite your replies thank you so much. I think it's time for this discussion to end though. If you have anything else to say relating to tis please pm me.
