I recently had a final scalp micropigmentation treatment, and I am extremely happy with the results. I am surprised more people aren't talking about this option. I have had universalis since 2010, and have struggled with accepting my new appearance. When I started seeing advertisements for SMP I was concerned that it might not look natural, and I could be making myself look even worse. I thought their photos could have been altered and maybe the horror stories were more common than the successes. Then I saw the work in person and wanted to go for it. There have been so many instances since then (with family, coworkers, friends, and even my doctor) when people have thought my real hair was growing back! Every time I meet someone else with alopecia I can't wait to tell them I have universalis, and this isn't real hair, it's SMP.

congrats on finding a side effect-free solution! looks great

Thank you!

That looks fabulous! I would totally think you just shaved your head if you hadn't said anything!

Thank you! Everyone I tell in person has the same reaction. I'm really excited to tell people about it.

What cost and how many time to make only a day or different days?

A full head treatment like mine was $4500. I broke it up into 3 payments and they do have other financing options. I've had 3 treatments, but Payment is good for up to 4 treatments. Each session was approximately 5 hours. He covers the whole head each time so it looked pretty good after the 1st time. The 2nd time I wanted to adjust the hairline, and the darkness. The last time I thought it could go a little darker still. I'm really happy with it now, but if I want to change anything I can still go back 1 more time. Some people think it hurts, but I have traditional tattoos and this was much less painful. I would say it felt more like acupuncture treatment. Each time my head would look red for about 2-3 days. I would schedule a Thursday and Friday off work and be all healed by Monday. The company is Skalp USA in NYC, and ask for Graig! Or at least check them out online if you are considering it.
Thank you Aimee!

Wow Ken, that looks brilliant! From here it looks like real hair stubble alright :)

I have universalis too and I'm also considering this option - it's very encouraging to see that your results have turned out so well.

Wishing you all the best with your new head of hair!

Thank you Saitama! Definitely look into the company "Skalp". They have a client forum with lots of people(mostly with male pattern baldness), but you can see lots of photos and hear what other real people think of the work. They are based in the UK, but maybe they are in Australia too.
Thanks for the advice - I just checked out other peoples' results on Skalp's forum and they look great. I have a few places lined up here in Aus and I'm hoping to see what it looks like in person on other people before I take the plunge myself.

Thanks again for sharing your experience :)
I agreed to do a video interview about my experience. It's a little embarrassing but here is the YouTube link...

Holy molly this looks good on you. Yeah I know what u mean by embarrassing but u made it and it was courageous. Seriously I wasn't able to tell it was micropigmentation. Now I do have a question for u... I have au also. If it looks so natural why don't u do it for eyebrows?
