Anyone know if this research will help us find a cure for alopecia? I hope so. I think this is the best thing so far that Obama has done for us.

I think I read the same article as Susan. I have heard of a man growing hair from a stem cell implant. I think it will definatly help us. I wasn't sure who to vote for, and he won me over based on the stem cell research thing. I think it's great ; )
Hi

I've read and heard the same information. I have hopes that this will be a positive thing for many chronic ailments.

I think Obama has done a wonderful thing by lifting the ban on federal funding for stem cell research. I truly believe that the cure for alopecia, as well as many other diseases and ailments, will be found within stem cells. We've lost so much ground over the past 8 years, as other countries are far ahead of us in stem cell research. But that's ok, because now that there's federal funding, I know that a cure will be found! Yeah Obama!
I was told that I was going to hell for backing the stem cell research. It broke my heart to judged in such a manner. Some people can be so inconsiderate and rude. Some people just don't understand this research at all.
I'm sorry that you were told this. I bet the same people that said this to you would fight tooth and nail if they,or a loved one, suffered from an ailment, disease, etc. that could be cured with stem cells! Hopefully they will never have to find out, but if so, I'm sure they would change their opinion quickly!
I am definitely a conservative but I have read up on stem cell research some and don't see a big problem. To me, it can't hurt to research it more and see. It could save millions of lives! I think its a chance worth taking, honestly.

Whoever told you you were going to hell for backing it is ridiculous. I hate when people judge. To me, that is just as bad as anything else.

How many people would do the treatment if it cured Alopecia? Especially answer this if you are okay with being bald. I am curious. I HONESTLY don't think I could. I am too comfortable being bald now. I have gotten used to it and don't like change! Lol If you would have asked me 4 years ago, heck yes I would have. But not now. It has become my new comfort zone.
Well I can honestly say that I would get the treatment (so long as it didn't cost an arm and a leg) because even though I have come to accept my alopecia, it is still really hard to look at my twin sister that has a full head of THICK hair and not feel like crap. Plus I am really tired of feeling angry towards people that complain about their hair.
I would have the treatment done in a heartbeat. I do miss my hair.

Researchers using adult stem cells and umbilical cord stem cells are acheiving more then Obama's inhumane lifting of the ban on stem cells taken from discarded eggs that had the potential to be human beings.
