Tangles?
Hi all! I've been wearing my wig consistently for almost 2 mos. I tend to finger comb the side front area a lot because it's annoying and gets in my face. Well now this part is all tangly and kinking at the ends. It's almost like it's sticking together and it looks really bad! Is there a way to fix that without just cutting that part off? Thank you!!

This depends on the hair that your wig is made from. It sounds like the hair is burred (this happens with synthetic hair),,,when the hair gets worn it becomes very dull and not overly natural. I believe if this has happened you will need to get it cut or possibly get a new wig as this often can't be bought back to a look that is acceptable to wearers.
If it is processed human hair ....again it sounds like maybe the silicone coating that is often put on processed human hair may have worn off leaving you with very processed dry looking hair. Again....not a lot can be done to get this back to new look that your hair originally looked like.. Search here through some of the threads with regards to rejuvenating processed human hair wigs. I remember reading some information a wee while ago about a process than can get these type of wigs back closer to their original look, that may help. Hopefully someone will come on soon with a little more info.

It's a synthetic wig, and it wasn't too cheap! I am so sad bc I've only been wearing it daily for about 2 mos. I really liked it before. :( Maybe I will take it into the salon to see what they can do.

Synthetic wigs only hold up for about two-three months, I only buy online because of that. I can recommend a wig site called wigsupport.com great site tons of info especially on synthetic wigs.
You may be able to find your exact wig online and order it yourself the wig salons mark up pieces a ton. The women that started the wigsupport site has and online wig site that has brand name wigs at the best prices online.

I'm going to a salon next week to see what he can do for it. Its starting to get really bad right now! The ends are almost like curly or kinky. It's so annoying. I am tempted to just start wearing a scarf or just nothing because of the way I feel in it. I can't stand to wear it right now at all. I'm disappointed because I really liked it at first.

I often have problems with my wigs and hair system tangling. I use Chi Silk Infusion (a few drops the size of a nickle or a quarter - depending on the length of the hair) and I start at the ends and then work it through my hair. It helps cut down on the tangles, but I have to do this a couple times a day. I bought a little bottle that i could fill and carry in my purse and a large tooth comb. It really helps. I also have my hair layered and it helps with the tangling too. Hope this helps!

I don't know if this will work on all wigs (I have an unprocessed virgin HH wig, and my wig specialist said that I can use anything on it that I would use on my normal hair) - I use dry shampoo and dry conditioner to untangle it with a wide toothed comb!
It works like a dream, I spray the dry shampoo first, scrunch my wig to clean it between salon visits, while I use the dry conditioner to detangle since that's the purpose of the dry conditioner. I comb slowly and carefully like I would with tangles in my normal hair, so that I don't break any of the hairs. It really has worked for me! So I hope if you try it, it works for you too. The brand I use is Oscar Blandi, only the invisible dry shampoo and conditioner, since there's another one but its a powder. I usually get it from Sephora, but sometimes at Rickys - both places have it, but I am sure other stores have it too.

There is youtube video from pattie's pearls where she shows you how to steam the tangles out of a synthetic wig to get longer life out of it.
