Hi Everyone,

I just brought my first lace front wig. The wig fits perfectly and looks great. I purchased the adhesive tape for the wig so I can remove my wig at night. I like to sleep all natural or with a bandana depending on my mood. I wanted to know if it is really necessary to use the tape or glue when wearing a lace front wig? Also, can someone give me advice or point me to a good you tube video on how to apply and use the tape with the wig.

Thanks,

Natasha

Hi, I brought my wig at a store in NYC.
hi Natasha!!!

I have been wearing a wig for the last... 3 and half years now... ever since my alopeocia universalis made a huge comback... and is probably here to stay!!!

I purchased a full lace wig... which was much better quality than the ones i used to wear when i was in my teens...
(it's the one i;m wearing in the profile pic)... anyway... i have the tape... but dont use it on a daily basis...
(i have the one that is for daily use...)... in the beginning... i felt much "safer" using the tape... but i dont anymore... i will only use it if i know i;m going to maybe a kids birthday party and will be picking up small kids that might tug at my hair .... otherwise I dont use it at all ...

Also... I dont sleep with the wig on... i find it uncomfortable... and also... the hair seems to get tangled much easier..although they do recommend a satin pillow to minimize the "rubbing" of the hair.

Now...how to use the tape.... my lace wig had silicon... or someother material... right above the ears and at the back bottom on the inside of the wig... u basically just cut a piece of the tape... and stick the one side of it to those areas... (i only did so in the front portions...never bothered with the back)... wipe ur head so it;s free of residue... sweat... etc.... (some people recommend wiping skull with some white surgical spirits to just get rid of the residues)...and while u are wearing the wig and u have it in place... u just lift up by the ears and remove the outer covering of the double sided tape.......

i hope this was helpful... and hope this is the type of tape u were talking about!
good luck!!!
Thanks a lot Nektaria!
Hi Nectaria, would you mind telling me where you bought your lace front? I've spent the last 3 months (since my alopecia went full blown) researching and getting ripped off. I bought a Cyber Hair wig for $1,500 which is HIDEOUS and actually threw it out. Several synthetics that look fake. Thousands of dollars later, still feel like a freak. Would appreciate it. Thanks. Message me and I will send you the site that I order my daughter's wigs from. Good quality and around $400 for long hair.
