My son Thomas has been featured in an Alopecia Awareness article today in the Home News Tribune and The Courier News, both central NJ newspapers, or online at www.mycentraljersey.com . You may click on the health tab once at the website and you will see Thomas 7 and also below that there is another article on Alopecia awareness, Alopecia support group meets in New Brunswick.

Thomas wanted to raise awareness and since his little sister was ready to donate 12 inches of her hair we figured it was a good time to get the message out there.

Thank you all for your support.

Great article! Thank you for sharing! Where did your daughter donate her hair to?
Just read the article... You must be really proud of your little guy!!....Its super inspiring to see little kids so positive about their condition and wanting to raise awareness of alopecia...truly touches the heart.. You got 2 great little kids there!!..
Aimee has sent her donation to Locks of Love. thanks Jen and Kathleen for your thoughtful comments. I think Thomas brings a lot of joy to many people because of his great attitude. He leaves such an impression on people. When we bump into people in the street that we have met before, they tell me that they couldn't stop thinking about Thomas and how cheerful he is. Although he does have his moments as well all do, but none can be attributed to his Alopecia, it's always about not being able to play a game at the moment he wants to play it. I told him that some scientists have found 8 genes responsible for Alopecia and that in the future there's a good chance of a cure and he said "I don't want hair, I love being bald'. "I don't have to wash it or comb it and if it grows back I will ask you to shave it off". Well, if that isn't inspiring then I don't know what is, LOL! I just pray to God he keeps up his positive attititude. I only wish more children could feel this way.
