we have a few threads about oral Xeljanz treatment but nothing dedicated to information about the topical form. The cream seems like it would have less systemic side effects (more suitable for children?)

Are the people who have been using the cream getting it prescribed specifically as topical, or are you being prescribed it specifically or are you being prescribed oral and having it prepared as topical?

is there a separate trial being run for the topical version?

Does the topical treatment warrant a distinct information thread separate from the oral treatment?

My son is too young to participate in any trials, particularly of oral medication, but I'm curious what will be available to him in the future

thank you!

Hi it's only been 15 days for me.I already ordered a second tube.If you you are using it on about a quarter to a third of your scalp a tube will last about 3 weeks.I am covering the area with a good amount of cream but still trying not to be wasteful.Slight tingling and slight itching so hopefully it's doing its job.I have sporadic hair in the area whereI'm applying the cream nothing new yet but it's still early. When the cream gets on some of my hair it doesn't make it greasy.I was suppose to use it on only a small spot for the first month but after 3 days with no adverse reaction I decided to use it on several larger spots. Will report back in a week.

Thanks for the report Football fan. Are you also applying it to eyebrows? 30 grams per tube? Hopeful it will do the trick with time, although I haven't seen any positive reports as of yet.

Using it on one eyebrow ( the one with about 50 per cent hair) I have such a strange case of AA never lost all my hair. The only place on my body with no hair is under my arms yet not responding to anything I try.
I've been using the topical for just over a month now, and I'm about to order my second tube. To be honest, I don't really know if the cream is doing anything yet. So far not much has changed with my eyebrow. My scalp seems to be getting hair where I applied the cream, but I don't know if that's just the pill starting to work in these areas. I'll keep you guys updated.

so to be verbose, you are currently taking oral xeljanz and also using topical? how long have you been using oral?

thanks for sharing!

Yes, I've been taking xeljanz orally since December 10, 2015. So just over two months.

Exactly Monsieur!

You don't try to dampen the immune system. You retrain/educate the immune system.

I don't need my immune system to be turned down. But it needs to treat my hair follicles with ....tenderness.

"In fact, alopecia areata is caused by an overzealous immune system, by identifying the hair follicles as foreign bodies, take them for target before destroying them. Currently, existing treatments rely primarily immunosuppressive medications - such as steroids - that inhibit the activity of the immune system."

None of these work, including XELJANZ. They don't treat the problem!

Xeljanz uers on stopping medication lose their hair.

Maybe in less than a decade there may be a the first(ever) viable treatment (apart from  remission) on the market? The retraining of the immune system is a good path.

the answer can b vitamin d (that is a immunomodulador) or the work in blood that are making in china

Sorry bro, but I have been part of a group that have monitored Alopecia trials/drugs for the past 11 years.

There is nada to report!

Only natural remission has any efficacy since ..........proto humans

Do any of the topical Xeljanz users have anything to report?

BUMP

any updates from any users? Given the response to date maybe we can assume that topical xeljanz has fatal side effects and everyone who started using it has died and is no longer able to post updates here :)
