I wish that disney would make princess that has no hair, so that every little girl who's fighting alopecia knows that the are BEAutiful and its OK to be different.

This blog is dedicated to thank my great alopecia family for all their encouragement and inspiration. When I was diagnosed 2 months ago with alopecia areata I honestly gave up hope and felt like my whole world was about to end... But alopecia world taught me that while acceptance may take a life time to do, it doesn't mean I can't deal with it one day at a time. Thank you so so so much. God bless, beeeeeeeeeeg hugs to everyone. I love you guys

Well, at leat in Tangled, Rapunzel is happier at the end with a different hair-do. Go watch! It is quite a commentary on the pitfalls of long hair and a mother's obsession with her daughter's hair (for her own gain). Does long hair only "trip us up" on the road to true personhood, internally? Are we not wanting to disappoint parents, dates or others with hair loss? Think about it!

You are so right! I agree. And barbies with no hair! A member on here made a post about how her granddaughter wants a doll for Christmas that looks like her. That would be so great if they made dolls with no hair to help all the little kids who are bald.

Hugs! I am thankful for the Alopecia family as well.

Why can't you just cut off the doll's hair??? And...aren't the old-fashioned china dolls already bald to start with? Go to a hobby shop and create one!

Hey Alicia,
I hear your wishes...I grew up without any fairytale role models...And now, I am doing everything in my power to get Hollywood, Disney, and the like to "take notice". Keep seeing the vision...Thoughts become things...And we all have the capacity to become powerful manifestors of our dreams ;)Your alopecia sis in Gotham

Thank you Margaret! You are so right, people are so stereotypical about beauty! Well 2012 is going to be a year that I'm going to do my best to start an awareness campaign here in south africa and hopefully this will be carried out by the rest of the world. BiiiiiiiiiiG hugs sweety, have a great day;). We are all in this together, and we will be strong. God bless

Yay! I'm so glad that you are feeling better. I love the idea of a bald Disney princess!

Big hugs Liz, today was my 1st steroid injection, it was a little painful but I survived. I'm just so thankful that it is getting sorted out. And yes it would be an awesome idea to have a bald princess:)

haha...Did you ever see Shrek? Repunzel's character was hanging in a tower acting the part in a play of Repunzel and her hair fell off! She had alopecia. It made me laugh!
