I did it! I am so very happy! At 50 to 60% hair loss and hair still falling out and some fuzzy bear growth best thing to do! I went to a barber, Rubens in Boca! Great barber and I am so glad l went to professional!

I started to to shave my hair off myself, but realized quickly I didn’t have the skill and why chance a por outcome.  The care my barber took was touching and as any man knows there is a lot more to a buzz cut ....

You look fantastic. I shaved my head completely a little more than a year ago. My husband helped. I have AU. I don't wear wigs but have a collection of hats and scarves. I get complemented by random people all the time.

Thanks Anne, I am at week 2 of my head shave and I have to say I am so much happier! I am surprised by some reactions of those around me (especially my daughter 27yrs old) negative, but I feel more honest and not scared my hat will blow off exposing my head.

I wear ear a wig to work and to events, I flew from Miami to St Louis last week, started off with my wig on and once I sat down in my seat .... all I could think about was how I was tangling the back of my wig(I hate the maintenance) and I said what the heck and off it came.

You really do look fantastic. Don't let the negative vibes get to you. Have fun with earrings, makeup and clothes.

You look great in that buzz and seem to be totally accepting of your AA.  I shaved (down to the scalp) mine New Years Eve '16 after about a 80-90% loss in only two weeks fron AU.  I figured, why look like Betelguese with just a few strands of hair.  I have had no scalp growth since shaving, so very low maintenance and I think easier to wear wigs, scarves & hats.

Thank you!  u are so on the same  page. Wow on AU in 2 weeks....crazy. Well you are great!

Looks so good- well done

Could you please (if you had a sec) answer some questions I am doing for my project.

Q1: What were the problems, that you personally experienced while wearing Wigs?
Q2: What were the problems you experienced from your Wig suppliers/ retailers?
Q3: What support did you receive from these Wig suppliers/ retailers, if any?

kind regards
Brent Cairns

Hi Brent

Q1- my lace hand tied synthetic moves around especially differcult when out at concert or dancing, also the front may not lay flat against my forehead, I have mid length wig past my shoulders and the synthetic hair gets all tangled and matted down(dread locks),

Q2-I don’t know the manufacturer, seems like my retailer does a private label thing, I relied on my retailer for styling and reconditioning they are 40 min from my home, upto 2 hrs around trip with traffic!  The turn around time is 2 days and a synthetic never will look as good as before the first wash!

Q3- my retailer is extremely helpful and patient but that’s end of road.

Oh thank you kimk

So wonderful of you to respond!

So glad to hear you have a great helpful and patient retailer

much appreciated

Brent :-)

Feel I need to post again once again kink I just wanted to say a big thank you for all of your honest reflections in your responses.

I appreciate the guts that it takes to push through the struggles that you have. You post is very inspiring and while I am trying to gain information also from Wig suppliers, it is really heartening to understand first hand from your perspective where you are.

God bless!

Brent
