I am trying to get my first wig. I have/had curly dark brown hair. I have gone to local people who can custom source human hair wigs but option for curly is a perm which I have gotten mixed feedback on what that can do to wig. My questions are
1) anyone with experience with perm on human hair wig and how was experience?
2) if not perm, where can I find either a natural curly hair wig or naturally curly hair. Have found local wig maker who can make wig but he doesn't have curly hair and I have searched internet and can't seem to find reputable place to buy naturally curly hair (not ethnic)

Hi there, I'm not sure where you live but I know some wig shops can obtain curly hair - the hair is either South American, Ukrainian or African American (in my local area, there's a wig shop that receives curly hair from these sources). It's very difficult to find a wig that has naturally curly hair online.

I hope others with more experience chime in!

Thank you for the response. I am in NW US (Oregon). I thought that wig shop is probably way I need to go so thanks for your input.

Hi

It will depend on what type of human hair your wig maker is using.  If it is processed human hair (even slightly) there will be issues with colouring or perming the hair.  Depending on the cap type there also could be problems with damaging the cap.

If the hair is 100% unprocessed virgin human hair, you should be able to perm or colour the hair with expected results.  My daughter has a curly brown freedom vacuum wig.  I'll put a piccie below.  Is this the type of thing you are after???  If so, go to the Freedom website www.freedomwigs.com then to the contact us page and get in touch with your nearest Indpendent Agents...many do travel.

This Freedom Wig is a natural curl (light curl preference) in the Freedom colour #6.  It can be coloured etc, but most don't bother as freedom hair is really beautiful.    Hope this helps.  Rosy

Check out the ELLEN WILLE brand I have Stream and Jamilia Hi. These are curly synthetic wigs. Ellen Wille is a well respected brand here in Europe and I have seen it is now available in the USA. The www.wigs.com site sells them and i would advise you check other online sites to get the cheapest price.

I have the Ellen Wille Jamilia Hi wig and LOVE it!! It's so fun and curly, yet natural. It's my first Ellen Wille wig, and I was very impressed with the quality. Even though it is a synthetic wig, the hair is very soft and easy to style. I bought mine through wigs.com.

Thank you for the responses. I will look into these suggestions!

I got a Water Wig by Amy Gibson
Her company is createdhair.com. She has AU and is really compassionate
My wig looks really great I love it I've had it for almost a year
it looks just like my hair and you literally don't feel like you have anything on your head because it's made of all lace
I use tape with it for extra security but if I'm running around just doing errands I usually don't use anything with it but it worked out great
Good luck I hope it works out for you
